Shangri La Dubai HBA Project
During my first internship with HBA I was responsible for creating multiple Arabic influenced detailed designs for pillows, ottomans, sofas, and chairs. For the guestroom at Shangri-La Dubai I created my sketch into a CAD drawing, which was then produced into an upholstered accent pillow with detailed stitching and can be found on site in the model room.

During the course of my 8 month internship with HBA, I worked primarily in phases one, two, and three of this project. Throughout my first internship I focused mainly on assembling presentation boxes, helping select FF&E, and ordering samples for our reference. When I returned I was given more responsibilities including, getting quotes and handling FF&E budget, writing FF&E and Material Reference specs, and working with our HBA India team on renderings.
Responsibilities: • Presentation boxes • Order all samples • Help select furniture • FF&E budget • FF&E and Material Reference Specs • Concept Sketches • Help with drawing package

When returning to HBA for my second internship, I had the opportunity to fill the position of a mid-level designer on my team as she took maternity leave. In doing so, I worked closely with my associate designer and the purchasing agent to ensure that construction and installation went smoothly. I spent my time communicating with the contracting team, providing documents for their use, reviewing shop drawings with my associate, and monitoring the distribution of FF&E items. Also, I was fortunate enough to visit the site.
Responsibilities: • Communicating with contracting company • Working closely with HPG purchasing agent • Reviewing shop drawings with Associate designer • Finalizing rug designs and artwork • Determining rug and artwork placements • Last minute specs prior to installation

We were given the opportunity to work one-on-one with OneSight and Luxottica in efforts to help bring vision care to people across the globe and impact the lives of many deserving individuals. Our challenge was to put forth a design that can be used in their Rwanda locations, as well as, be carried out throughout their upcoming facilities across the world. In doing so, we focused on the idea of waiting and how it can affect the overall experience from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Our project was awarded Client’s Choice and Best Concept at our final presentation.

Low Reveal
Mid Reveal
A low reveal offers the most privacy by only giving a slight hint into the next space with the ability to see shadows.
A mid reveal provides interest by creating different size spacing between the pieces of wood allowing a sneak peek into the space.
High Reveal
A hight reveal provides the least amount of privacy by using light tone fabrics that hang from the ceiling that create a unique reveal.
Fixture Display
Wayfinding
The design of the fixture incorporates the wrapping element with the architecture. It consists of simple shelves applied to the wrap, and divided into three sections to display mirrors and a hierarchy of glasses.
This wrapping detail supports sinage and wayfinding throughout the space, while bringing the reveal, fixture, and architecture together.

Workplace of the Future
Group Project

Summer semester of 2015, we were challenged to design the workplace of the future while keeping the idea of the Maker’s Culture alive. In doing so, my group of three decided to take a slightly different approach on the project. Rather than designing your future office for Maker’s, we designed a program that promotes a STEAM educational experience in efforts to influence the future makers of our society to unleash their creativity abilities and continue to keep the Maker’s movement alive.

Building from Without
Individual Project
Our final project during the fall semester of my Sophomore year was to design a space of your choice, while incorporating a pool and theatre, and had to be built on an existing garage in downtown Cincinnati. While including these stipulations and pulling precedents from the city itself, I designed a three story hospitality center with an amphitheater, infinity pool, and two banquet spaces in which can host the event of your choice.

Group Project
Our final project freshman year focused on creating a real life space, in which offered seating, intriguing lighting, and a cohesive design that was able to collaborate with six other individual spaces. In doing so, seven groups combined their individual designs of a space, to create an intriguing promenade. The final was displayed for all UC students to experience.

T he Stipple Effect Individual Project
The Stipple Effect is derived from pieces of torn magazine pages, in which I collaged together to create an aesthetically pleasing visual. I proportionally drew the collage, and then using black micron pens, I stippled the drawing to create a diverse range of values of gray scale, representing the various hues in the original collage. Skills: • Hand drawn • Proportioned to scale • Stippling technique • Micron pen

Old Time Panorama Partner Project
My cousin and I were given the honor of recreating a mural of the small town we grew up in, after the original piece was demolished when they rebuilt the elementary school where it was displayed since 1989. We recreated the original painting on twenty 18” by 24” canvases using acrylic paint, over the course of a four month period. It is displayed in the new elementary school.
