The group has been able to give life to a unique balance between Italian design, taste and fabric innovation and Turkish craftsmanship: a perfect interweaving which can be found in every facet of Moret and of its carpets. The story, which begins on the Bosporus and proceeds to the heart of Europe, ensures that Moret carpets marries the typical discernment of the carpet-weaving culture of Anatolia with the Italian love of art and design famous throughout the world.

The Turkish productive thread upholds the savoir-faire of an ancient tradition, imbued with capability and skill, and combines with the genius of Italian industrial fabric-making and Made in Italy design.

Giorgio Cattano

Giorgio Cattano is an artist, architect and designer, interested experimenting in all fields from art to science. What interests him most is the relationship between things. Cattano is active in the design of furniture and jewellery. He lives between Amsterdam and Seville in Spain. For Cattano art is a song to be released from within, that makes us feel alive and free. It is also a different way of looking at things. The artist affirms that we cannot pretend to explain everything with sums and differences. Art helps us to see things from inside, and understand them a little better, making us feel closer to infinity.

Cedri & Martini

“Cedri & Martini” is the fruit of two design project experiences; Andrea Martini is the product of art research with sculpture as creative expression, whilst Renzo Cedri’s background is in industrial design, in the various methodologies of conceptualisation of a project and specifically in jewellery design. Different experiences, but still with a surprising correspondence in interests, which has made it simple to create objects fully representative of them both. Their passion for experimentation, taste for organic formations and geometric patterns in Nature resulted in the creation of futuristic objects which refer back to hydrodynamic forms of marine animals or translucent insect exoskeletons. Designer furnishings and accessories and personalised products, not restricted by the severe limitations of the market and serial production, are meant to be created in limited series or as unique pieces.

All their creations are characterised by their signature and the silver logo, the stellar metal par excellence.

Silver Chic was conceived as a fashion collection, inspired by the glamour and elegance of some of the most fascinating icons of the golden age of cinema. It is a homage to nostalgia’s magic and dreams. Designs inspired by the world of couture – from chalkstripes, hound’s tooth and classic tartan to herringbone – with marked contrasts between the materials – from woolly fabrics to the softest ones with their precious silver threads.

Aldo Cibic (1955) was one of Ettore Sottsass’ business partners and was also one of the designers and founders of the Memphis collection. In 1989, he founded Cibic&Partners. Today, the main activities take place in Milan for architectural projects and large interiors, and in Vicenza with CibicWorkshop for design and research activities. He also teaches at the Domus Academy and in various university faculties. He is an Honorary Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai. In 2010, he was among the three Italians invited by director Kazuyo Sejima to the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice with the project: “Rethinking Happiness.”

With Moret, he created the Happy Carpets collection, which includes Merry-go-round, selected by the New York Times as one of the best proposals at the Salone del Mobile (Milan Furniture Fair) in 2012.

The decorations – once they were patterns from ancient traditions – have become small men holding hands, or animals conjuring up Noah’s Ark or a series of vegetable motifs, which like the others, however, always have an abstract or surreal design.

Samuele Mazza Freedom & Butterflies

Samuele Mazza began his professional career in the 1980s as a fashion designer, dealing with an environment that requires absolute rigour and an exasperated search for all that is contemporary and glamorous, and then crossing over into different disciplines. From creation to theory, Samuele Mazza analyses the fashion industry by tracing, through the monographs of the great designers published by Electa Mondadori, a “geography of fashion thought”. In 2001, he founded “Visionnaire” – a furniture brand that became well-known, now taken over by Ipe Cavalli. Together with Moret, Samuele Mazza created Rosenthal, Gotham, and Chrysler.

In Moret’s research in the field of design carpets, this collection tells the capacity of the Italian brand to respond to the various tastes of contemporary living through the high quality of materials, sophisticated processing techniques and studied formal solutions.

So that the carpet can be, in any lived space, both public and private, a frame and suggestion for evocative, soft and enveloping sensations.

Diego Chilò (1957) started working in construction and industrial design in 1984 and collaborated with Arch. Fiorenzo Valbonesi and Arch. Tobia Scarpa.

Since 2006, he has been a member of the scientific committee for the magazine, Acciaio Arte Architettura and in the same year, he was recommended by the Dedalo Minosse International Prize panel for Architecture.

In 2007, the Lapis project received the Innovation and Design Award at LivinLuce EnerMotive in Milan, and in 2013, Acqualuce received the Good Lighting Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum. He has exhibited his works at Galleria Galica (MI), Musei Civici di Venezia, Triennale di Milano and Palazzo Firmian (TN).

The models designed by Diego Chilò are part of the Moret research aimed at identifying new horizons for contemporary carpets, seen as bearers of ideas, universal dreams and poetry. A special metallic yarn in gold, silver and bronze versions identifies the symbolic shapes and illuminates the various colours chosen by Chilò. A new material and chromatic complexity for the Moret carpet, enhanced by the low-relief effects obtained through the modulation of the heights of the different yarns.

Italia design and timeless elegance come together in the Intrigue collection designed by Matteo Cibic. A slow and precious manufacture that pays homage to the magic of light that the waterways animate in the eighteenthcentury palaces of Veneto and Tuscany. The collection is characterised by the use of silks and wools, woven and inlaid to create light and dark effects, as well as high and low relief

The Silk Road is the first carpet in the new collection designed by Maurizio Molini. It recalls adventurous journeys: from Venice, cosmopolitan port and cultural crossroads, imaginary lines intersect, narrating journeys and landscapes.

As with the Sacred Songs of Bruce Chatwin, it traces the dynamic metaphysical labyrinth evoked by mythical journeys.

Creative director of companies and industries, Maurizio Molini (1961) is leading Studio Molini – architecture, art and design firm that operates globally, where every project entails a point of interaction which creates an experience – an encounter between art and industry designed to rouse the senses and engage the mind at various levels of comprehension. Molini – whose explorations of art and culture via frequent travels throughout Asia, Africa, and the Americas –build upon his aesthetic foundation of Italian design. Graduated in Architecture from the IUAV in Venice, Maurizio Molini promotes corporate culture and the value of the Made in Italy through conferences on behalf of government institutions.

Reflecting on the concept of the infinite, where space and time being non-dimensional, are understood and comparable as a single idea and this has inspired the High Density carpet Collection. A dynamic vortex, designed threedimensionally, like a Super Nova, its high density attracts everything around it into itself to be reunified as ONE.

Angelo Luigi Tartaglia (1955) is Architect and Interior Designer. Graduating in Florence, then gaining experience in Italy and the USA, opened his own studio in Rome in 1987. With an interest in innovative methods of expression and the dynamics of changes in clothing, he focused his own design research on conceptual language, whose inspirational matrices are the most varied, and highly attentive to compositional development. A specialist in Internal Architecture, for many years he alternated between professional and teaching activities in the Faculty of Architecture of Roma Valle Giulia. He has collaborated with various companies in the field of industrial design.

The power of colour in the service of beauty and, indeed, colour catches the eye and stimulates the mind of the observer and takes us on a journey of self-discovery and examination of our own emotions. The five senses melt into the world around us and all becomes a deep sea to be saved: we save the sea and with it, ourselves.

The rose is an iconic, strongly emotive flower as expressed in its perfume, touch and above all the iconography of its arrangement of petals; an icon which has nurtured strong symbolism and poetic associations. Its distilled form expressed in various colours and several shades translates expressive language into poetry, captured in the structure of every angle. A contemporary and timeless masterpiece.

In the Ideas collection of Francesco Pascali line, form, colour and surfaces are keystones in a language which invents its own rules, “abstraction and empathy”, composite works, “harmonious” hybrids, between the surrealist manner of psychic automatism, digital representation techniques and the skilled hands which brings them to life.
