The Ultimate Guide to Living and Dining on Campus
By Christine Bell bellc@moravian.edu Marketing Manager, Dining Services
Students are usually surprised when we tell them how to make sure they get the meal plan they want: choose where you live carefully.
The allowable meal plans on campus for undergrads depend on what type of residence hall you live in. If you live in a residence hall with a private kitchen, you have two additional meal plan options available to you.
There are only a few residence halls on campus that are considered to have private kitchens: Beck, deSchweinitz, the Hillsides, the Townhouses, Greek and Organizational Housing (all on North Campus), and The Hill (on South Campus).
When you have a private kitchen available, you’re more likely to make food for yourself. This opens up the Silver and Bronze Meal plans, both of which have fewer meal swipes and more Dining Dollars ($570 with Bronze!). If you’re a student that prefers dining in The B&G or if you have to have your Starbucks, these plans will generally work best for you.
If you don’t live on campus, or are a grad student, you have even more flexibility! You can choose whatever meal plan you like, from our smaller Commuter meal plans, to a larger Resident student meal plan
It depends on what you may have time or budget for - some students prefer to not have to worry about cooking or cleaning and love having the flexibility to take meals home (yes, even to your off-campus residence!) Bottom line, though - if you ever need assistance making this decision, reach out to dining or talk to us at any time!
