The HUB gets a glow-up

How The Renovation Impacts Dining In 2024

Starting in Spring semester, the HUB as we know it will no longer exist While both The Star and B&G will remain throughout, Dining does have to make some changes to accommodate the renovations Here’s what’s happening.

First, the entrances to both locations will be revised. In The Star, the main entrance has moved outside the building, adjacent to Makuvek field. We relocated our register there, and we’ll have an expanded “Express Lane” to-go area so students can quickly come in, grab to-go meals and exit.

Unfortunately, we’ll be losing about 50 seats in The Star - but we hope that having expanded to-go options and seating elsewhere will help

Over Spring Break, the entrance to the B&G will move to the front of the HUB, where Hissho Sushi used to be. No worries, we’ve still got sushi in a new refrigerator! We’ve already moved some things around to accommodate the new entrance.

The Express Lane will feature to-go meals (the same as what we're serving at Hometown) and options so that you don't even need to come in to grab a full meal to go.

With fewer seats in The Star (and no Pavilion in which to dine in the HUB), we’re opening the B&G at 10 am during the week, instead of 11 am, to hopefully alleviate some anticipated busy times during the day.

While we know things might be a challenge to students while the renovation is ongoing, it won’t be too long before we have a brand new building!

"To accommodate the construction, we’re opening The B&G an hour earlier during the week.

Monday - Thursday, the B&G will open at 10 am."
