Road Geometry Cannondale road bikes are renowned for their exceptional handling. Making a great handling bike involves balancing many factors: frame stiffness and compliance, rider position and, perhaps most importantly of all, frame geometry. To deliver the best possible ride experience for each of our categories of road bike, we change the geometry slightly to best suit the type of riding and rider.
Elite Race Geometry:
HeadsUp Race Geometry:
Our Elite Race bikes feature the lowest headtube heights, the steepest head tube angles and shortest wheelbases, all to help racers adopt the most aggressive, efficient and aero position, and eke out every possible fraction of a second through every corner. Found on SuperSix EVO and CAAD10
To keep the quick handling, racy feel of the EVO and CAAD10, while providing a slightly more comfortable, less aggressive position, the CAAD8 features similar angles and wheelbase, but adds approximately 1.5cm to the headtube height. Found on CAAD8
S.E.R.G. (Synapse Endurance Race Geometry)
1.5cm
As befits a bike intended for rougher races and long days in the saddle, S.E.R.G. provides the ideal balance between pure aggressive race geometry and upright "comfort" geometry. Slightly longer wheelbases, slightly slacker head tube angles, a bit more BB drop and a head tube height that is around 2.5cm taller than the Elite Race bikes all combine to deliver handling that is racy and precise, yet supremely confident and stable when things get rough. Found on Synapse Carbon and Alloy HeadsUp Race Geometry (Elite Geo with taller head tube)
