he recent passing away of Sun Youth co-founder Earl De La Perralle was a big loss to the organization, as you can imagine. Sun Youth would like to take this opportunity to invite the public to the Midget home opener game on August 11th, 1 pm, at Jeanne-Mance Park in memory of Coach Earl. For as long as Sun Youth has had a football program, the organization's co-founder Earl De La Perralle has been at its helm, allowing it to grow tremendously over the last decades. Anybody involved with youth football in Quebec knows the name Earl De La Perralle or as he’s often referred to, “the Godfather”. As

president of the Quebec Midget Football League, he was also instrumental in the development of amateur football in Quebec and great influence and inspiration to countless athletes and fellow coaches. Through the sports programs at Sun Youth, he positively affected the lives of thousands of young Montrealers by focusing on the development of personal responsibility and education. It was always important to him that every kid had a right to play the sports they love. Earl emphasized the value of gaining an education through sport, moving on to university and gaining the skills to create success throughout a lifetime. The

Sun Youth Hornets are now one of the best managed amateur football organizations in the Province, and many alumni have successfully gone on to play in the college, university and even professional levels. In memory of Sun Youth mentor and cofounder Earl De La Perralle, join us on August 11th, 1 pm. Following the game (as of 4 pm), coaches, alumni, parents and friends are invited at Sun Youth to celebrate Earl'l life and legacy. This will be the perfect opportunity to share good memories of this larger than life man and rally up to make sure that his vision lives on.
