Al Borlin Park is located on Buck Island is the largest park in Monroe at 90 ACRES and has approximately 4,500 lineal feet of shoreline along the Skykomish River.

There are many different types of woods used to smoke meats for barbeque. Hard woods such as hickory, mesquite, pecan, and certain types of oak impart a strong smoke flavor. Woods like maple, alder, and fruit woods impart a milder, sweeter taste. The Amarillo uses imported hickory wood for their brisket and ribs.

Split Second Improv performs monthly at Wagner Performing Arts Center in Monroe located on Main St. They have been performing in Monroe since 2005, but officially became part of the Monroe Arts Council in 2018.

A SPAR TREE is a tall tree that is trimmed of all branches, topped, then rigged with guy lines and blocks, and used as a derrick to yard logs, moving them from where they were felled to a landing where they can be loaded for shipment to the mill. Or used in climbing competitions like at the Sultan Shindig held the second weekend in July.

The first agricultural display in Snohomish County was held in 1874 in Monroe which makes the Evergreen State Fair one of the oldest fairs in Washington.
