TEXTURED LAYERS Lighting designers Lightivity have recently completed the exterior and interior lighting design for the new National Bank of Oman headquarters in Muscat, Oman. Working with London-based architects LOM, Lightivity have used ‘layers of light’ to reveal the material texture and stunning stepped form of the building’s dramatic façade. The building will occupy one of the most prominent sites in the country on the main Al Sultan Qaboos Street between the airport and the centre of Muscat, diagonally opposite the iconic Grand Mosque. The aim is to create a contemporary Omani landmark head office for the bank and for the city. The building will provide high quality office space, a large head office bank branch and a striking internal atrium inspired by Oman’s dramatic wadi gorges.
