Meet the Artist: Legacy Irish Dance Academy

HILTON HEAD BALLROOM DANCE STUDIO

Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio has been helping Bluffton and Hilton Head stay stylish on the dance floor since opening their doors in 2003. Their highlytrained and certified instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing various styles and disciplines, and have a passion for the art of dance and for helping others discover their inner dancer. Hilton Head Ballroom offers private lessons, group classes, social parties, private/custom group classes, and a whole lot more. They specialize in all types of Ballroom and Latin Dances in both American and International styles, but also offer wedding dance instruction, and all styles of partner dancing.

SANDRO VIRAG

Sandro Virag, originally from Budapest, Hungary, started dancing at age 5 and was already teaching group classes by age 14. At age 18 he became a Hungarian National Champion and was choreographing and performing in musical theater. In 2001 he had the opportunity to come to the United States to teach as a professional and compete under the US flag. Shortly after, he became a US citizen. In 2003 he opened the Fred Astaire Dance Studio on Hilton Head Island which has transitioned to the Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio in Bluffton. Sandro has over 25 years of teaching experience. He competes at the professional and pro-am level, is experienced in musical theater productions and has also produced and choreographed numerous productions. He teaches all levels of students including special needs, and has won numerous top teacher awards. Not only does Sandro have a passion for ballroom dancing, but also for traveling, which inspired him to become a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. MEGHAN GREEN

Meghan Green has danced with Hilton Head Ballroom for the past four years. Prior to discovering the glamorous world of ballroom, she trained classically in ballet en pointe, tap and jazz in Western North Carolina at WNC Dance Academy. Before moving to the Lowcountry, she lived in Charleston, SC. and taught youth ballet in the West Ashley area.

Meghan has performed as a soloist in The Nutcracker as the Snow Queen, Chinese Tea, Dew Drop Fairy and Spanish Coffee, as well as a supporting ensemble dancer for 10 years. She also performed in former Broadway dancers, Kim Luzzi and Heidi Spoon’s Edge, in Highlands, NC. Meghan currently calls Hilton Head Ballroom Dance Studio home and enjoys being part of an Ensemble. She also enjoys sharing the gift of dance with her son who is part of the Youth Ballroom Dance Club.
