Community Garden News
by Rebecca Blackman
The weather has been on our side recently and it allowed extra team days on several consecutive weekends, in addition to our regular Thursdays. We’ve made amazing progress in such a short time!
The sweetcorn, potatoes and leeks are all planted now, as are the group beans. We’re starting to get on top of the grass mowing and strimming and the garden is looking wonderful.
We’re very excited to announce a new live music project from the garden called ‘Songs From the Shed’. Our first music session will be held at the Community Garden (at the top of the Sheep Fair Field) on Saturday, July 6th at 2.30pm. Bring refreshments to enjoy and share. Suggested donation £1 for members, £2 for non members. In case of poor weather, we’ll move the music to the YMCA on Mill Street.
