Region brushed with talent - Art prize winners announced An image of a Magpie - a fitting totem for Molong - was announced as the winner of the 2023 Acquisitive Art Prize at Molong RSL recently. The work, by Hargraves artist, Jason McDonald, was a tribute to a hand-reared Magpie and the first entry in the annual competition for the artist. The artwork will now be acquired for the Cabonne Council Heritage Collection and will be displayed in Council’s Molong office foyer. Local Artist, Jane Tonks recieved a highly commended award for her tribute to Mount Canobolas. However, it was the school’s section of the competition which brought the most smiles, with a large number of entries from students across the shire presented with awards. Winners included Molong Central School’s Marli Mills, Ethan Brouff and Jack Ryan. Congratulations to all the entrants and winners. What talent for the region!
