Calls to fix aged infrastructure before CBD beautification

"The stories that emerged from recent public meetings I’ve held on insurance claims have been deeply troubling.

Mr Gee said he was hoping that this inquiry would be a "watershed moment" in the way that insurers deal with disaster-hit policy holders.

"Change needs to come from this tragedy and devastation," he said.

A few months ago Andrew Gee MP used Question Time in Federal Parliament to provide information to the Albanese Government about the problems being experienced by communities after the 13/14 November 2022 floods throughout his electorate. It was a to-the-point presentation Andrew made in Question Time where he described the extent of the damage to towns, villages and farming lands. And, also his concerns about the become exceptionally good and so much credit for these facilities must go to Doctor Robin Williams who has been relentless in securing the best medical care for our area - the HealthOne multipurpose facility in Bank Street.

The Albanese Government reacted - and last week the Minister for Financial Services and Assistant Treasurer made the journey to this area to see the toll of the floods on the people, communities, infrastructure and mental health.

"Change needs to come from this immense tragedy and devastation," said Andrew as he toured the area with Minister Stephen Jones.

The Molong Express, on behalf of local and district residents, would like to send our best wishes to the hardworking friend we all have at HealthOne and the Molong Hospital.

Cecily Brazier has made a difference to the life of many over generations of resident’s health needs.

Contributing a remarkable 50 years, or five decades, Cecily has been a shining light in the lives of residents who have found their way into her capable hands - and experienced well-trained professional practices supporting healthcare needs.

That same nightMinister Jones made a media statement that he would be recommending an inquiry to shine a spotlight on shocking insurance practices in disaster-hit communities.

Thank you immensely to Andrew for your committment and loyalty to the lives of residents of this area.

As usual - and wherever he can - our hardworking Federal Member stands and works for his people and achieves for us. Good on you, Andrew.

As the saying goes - it’s hard to take the country out of one’s soul.

Cecily married Warwick Brazier and returned to Molong to a life on the Brazier's grazing property, motherhood (raising three sons), and devotion to her career at the Molong Hospital and then in pathology.

The good news is that we will still be seeing Cecily from time to time as she continues to work within and support local health needs at the Molong Hospital and HealthOne.

As Abraham Lincoln once said: 'And, in the end it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.'

I hope in some small way I have made a difference".

Modest to the core - Cecily has always been a well-liked country girl who grew up on her family's property on the outskirts of Molong.

Heading off to Kincoppal, Rose Bay, as a boarder at seven years of age, Cecily spent her school years in Sydney heading back home during school holidays.

A career in nursing was at the forefront of the young student’s mind. After graduating with her RN, Cecily continued working and studying in the health sector including gaining a post graduate degree in infant welfare.

Otherwise, golf is high on Cecily’s agenda - time in her garden - and time with her eight grandchildren.

Again, the Molong Express, on behalf of local and district residents would like to thank Cecily for her committment and the respect she has shown to us all in her local health support roles and care.

She is a good, unassuming woman, who is loved and trusted by so many patients, her health colleagues, the wider Cabonne communities, friends and family.

Cecily has, indeed, made a difference - a BIG one.
