With a good portion of Moeller High School's 1986 state championship team watching from the Galbreath Field stands Friday night, the present-day Crusaders were adding to the school's illustrious history on the football field. Moeller senior tailback Mike Kamphake set the school reGard for most carries in a game with 46 and gained 226 yards to break the Moeller single-season rushing record with 1,494. yards. That . betters the mark of 1,434-of D'Juan Francisco in 1984. Kamphake's dominance' and a determined Moeller defense resulted in a 22-10.victory over .Princeton·(6-4) and finished any hopes the Vikings had for the playoffs. But they didn't count on . Moeller and Kamphake's resolve to eat up the clock. The Crusaders marched down the field on the next possession and scored on a seven-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Ryan Cooper to senior tight end Max Lind to take the lead, 7-3. ~··
' Princeton couldn't move the ball on the next possession and Moeller decided to let Kamphake take over the next drive. He carried six of the eight plays, including the one-yard touchdown run, for a 14-3 Moeller advantage.
