• Donate a little of your time to help others. The Modesto Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, United Way and other local organizations need your help to keep their efforts moving forward. Give the gift of helping others by showing your support. Being a community is a team effort.
• Check out our local guide in this issue to learn about local restaurants and cafes that are known for unique drinks, eats and special tasty treats. A gift certificate to a shop such as Yogurt Mill will give your friends and family a chance to sample holiday goodies infused with peppermint, pumpkin spice, eggnog and other holiday favorite flavors.
• Give the gift of fitness and health by giving a new pair of running shoes from On The Run Shoe Store, comfortable outdoor gear from Royal Robbins or a new bicycle from Fun Sport Bikes. All of these shops are locally-owned and located in the McHenry Village shopping center.
• Show someone that local restaurants are special and affordable by providing them with an opportunity to sample local cuisine. Locally-owned restaurants focus on locally-produce ingredients and that helps everyone from their employees to local farmers.
• Offer up warmth and comfort by making a unique crocheted or knitted scarf or hat. Everything that you need is located at The Urban Sheep in Roseburg Square.
• Rogers Jewelry on Sisk Road is a Modesto original and they stock thousands of sparkling gift ideas. Go one step further and have them create a unique piece for the person that you love the most.
