“Triple Dip La Niña” isn’t the latest concoction from Dairy Queen, although it isn’t far off—cold and everything white, as in snow. And for a third time, La Niña will dictate our winter weather, which means good news for all of us.
La Niña means cooler than normal temperatures for the upper Midwest including most of all of Minnesota, and a better chance than average to be snowier. And for the third time in a row, the chances are even more increased. The Farmers’Almanac states Minnesota will be a “Hibernation Zone Glacial Snow-Filled.”
So optimism abounds, including at our Fall Workshop recently held in Austin, Minnesota. Congratulations to the new leadership for the coming year, and continued success for those re-elected. And optimism for snow for our 2023 Rendezvous, which was announced at the Fall Workshop and will be held at the Grand Casino in Hinckley. More info to follow on that fine event, but the main thing you need to know is it will be filled with fun.
Optimism for those seeking election to our fine Minnesota Legislature and the governor’s seat. Refer to our candidate survey if you need to know who is pro snow, and who is a no go. And make sure to vote Pro Snow!
I’m sure you’ve heard the song “I’ve Been Everywhere” written by Geoff Mack back in 1959, although Johnny Cash’s version from 2004 is probably more common in your mind. Now that clubs are meeting again, I’m working on my version for your association, as I’ve been to “St. Cloud, Byron, Kasson, Orrock, Little Falls, and Austin, man” since the last issue.
You can be rest assured I’ll keep adding to my little ditty. Just drop me a line and, if you have an event you’d like me to attend, let me know.
Now let’s get those trail signs prepped and ready to go. The Dec. 1st trail opening will be here sooner than we think.
