The annual event is a social gathering put on by the club whose goal is to promote snowmobiling and raise awareness about snowmobile trails in the Wright County cities of St. Michael, Albertville and Hanover.
There will be door prizes, appetizers, drink specials and a silent auction. The auction raised more than $5,000 last year, which was donated to the 2022 Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association Veterans Ride.
People who aren’t members of the club are encouraged to attend the event to meet local snowmobilers and learn more about the club. The Trail Opener is scheduled from 7 pm to midnight.

Red River Snowmobile Club
by Brian L Chandler, Vice President
The Red River Snowmobile Club had a busy September with our entrance in the Kem Shriners Annual Potato Bowl Parade and our first Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser.
We built our float featuring the EGF Fire and Rescue Bearcat with the cutter that was donated by our club. With several members walking alongside, we shared 82 pounds of candy with the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks communities. We are already looking forward to the HollyDazzle Festival of Lights Parade November 20th, when our warm winter gear will be highlighted under twinkling Christmas lights.
The VFW graciously hosted our fundraiser where 250 individuals (mostly women) enjoyed a night of Bingo and so much more. The night was a sold-out event that included food, drinks, and a lot of fun. We kept the night hopping with drawings featuring gift card giveaways from local vendors.
We also had many donations from businesses who contributed to our silent auction. Our deepest gratitude goes to the businesses and banks that generously served as underwriters for the event. It was so much fun that we are going to repeat the Bingo event on Thursday, November 17th.
We’re also looking forward to participating in the MnUSA Calendar fundraiser.
We are weeks away from grubbing and grooming 54 miles of trails with a solid plan to prep an additional 38 miles this season. In December, we are looking forward to a Landowner’s Appreciation Party. Founded in 1968, our club has grown its membership to include 28 new families in 2022. We continue to recruit younger members who will carry the mantle in future years. Several of our members will be training with the DNR so they can teach and certify younger snowmobilers in the state of MN.
