Cultural Integration of Immigrants 1. Introduction Immigration has affected many countries nowadays in a high number of different ways. As a consequence of immigration, people are different in significant ways from one another and these differences create both opportunities and challenges. The combined social, economic, political and cultural implications of immigration have frequently been assessed as a whole and also in their discrete parts. Immigration needs an specific challenges to reduce or remove particular differences between newcomers and natives. This is what is meant by immigrant integration. It is a need to offer knowledge and develop skills to make real the integration Sending partners: educational organizations involved in formal, non – formal and informal learning: schools, adult training centres, NGO’s, resources centres and other relevant organizations active in school, immigration, youth and adult education established in Erasmus program countries. Participants: 15 – 20 participants involved in education. Course fee: According to the Erasmus guide, 70 Euros per training day (the option of self payment it is also possible) and includes: - Enrolment to the course - 5 days of onsite training course (20 hours) - Training material (handouts) - Certificate of Attendance - Management of the training - Mobility Pass (if applicable) Ask for other expenses such as: accommodation, transfer, cultural activities, tourism in Barcelona and meals. 1


Language used: English or Spanish. Profile of the participants: 1) The integration course is aimed at both new arrivals and people who have lived in Spain for a relatively long period but have not yet learnt sufficient Spanish. 2) The participants are teachers, adult trainers, youth workers or responsible, interested in being able to know how to create and manage this kind of training to be used in their countries, following the Spanish model. Objectives (staff) • Be able to develop and create content (structured) • Be able to plan, develop and implement integrative knowledge to complement teaching • Familiarize with the use of this kind of courses to be offered in their organizations. • Be able to create their own course focused on their needs and specific profiles Objectives (young) • Integrating linguistic and cultural knowledge • Expand language skills and actively practice oral and written skills comprehension. • Develop awareness of the positive values against widespread media culture of controversy and conflict. • Understand, promote and respect cultural diversity in its many facets.

2. Methodology The course will base learning on theoretical and practical knowledge proposed during the lessons. The teacher will guide trainees and will help them solving any kind of issue arisen during the learning process. The teacher will also provide constant feedback. Moreover, the teacher will check that all participants reach the pedagogical objectives and develop the expected professional skills. The course evaluation will be continuous and personalized, according to the course program. In any case, there will be a test to assess the learning outcomes. We will create an atmosphere in which students will like to learn, teachers will like to teach and all will like to work together.

4. Training Course Structure Details The duration of the structured training course is 20 hours from Monday o Friday with both theoretical and practical contents. The aim is to reflect the new knowledge gained, apply it in practice, and exchange ideas and best practices with the other participants and the trainer. The participants will also plan in group work about how they will pass on the new knowledge to the staff of their organisations which is not present in the training (personal knowledge transfer, providing eLearning resources to the colleagues and the organization, etc.). Registration: We kindly ask you to pre-register on time for the training course. Your preparation for the training and journey can only be started after the written confirmation of M&M Profuture Training, S.L. The organizer reserves the right to carry out the course only if a minimum of 5 people have registered and transferred the fees for the course.

Course Venue, Travel and Accommodation: The course will take place in Barcelona. Travel, accommodation and subsistence are the responsibility of the sending organization/individuals and covered from the budget of the sending organization/individuals. M&M will support with local information about the region, such as accommodation, local transport and cultural routes.
