ERASMUS + BULLYING PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION COURSE FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS Context and goals: Bullying is one of the most important issues facing our families; schools, communities and society today, yet teacher professional development opportunities and resources on this timely topic are limited. Bullying is a systemic, community, and policy issue. However, we believe that teachers can create safe classrooms today. One of the challenges for teachers nowadays is dealing with abuse and conflicts that can severely affect their students. It is important for teachers to recognize the early signs of bullying and to intervene in a suitable way. Being bullied is worse than teasing because it is designed to damage someone's self-esteem. It can cause them emotional, psychological stress, and even physical pain. It is done with the express purpose of causing harm in one form or another because of social media and all of its various outlet, bullying no longer stops at the end of the school day unfortunately. Format: in-campus intensive. Duration: Five-day course. Four hours per day. Introducing pedagogical approaches to deal with the victims of bullying as well as attackers To contribute to create an emotionally intelligent school environment To learn how to manage the stressful and conflict situations
Target audience: The participants are: teachers, adult trainers, or active members in the sending organizations interested in the essential skills, knowledge and competencies required for tackling the bullying phenomenon using a holistic approach and active techniques to engage students, and encourage emotional intelligence.
