Oil and Gas Production and Consumption From 1995 to 2008, consumption of oil increased from 69.610 to 84.455 million barrels per day, while production of oil increased from 68,102 to 81,820 million barrels per day. Similarly, from 1995 to 2008, consumption of gas increased from 2132 to 3019 billion cubic metres, while production of gas increased from 2119 to 3066 billion cubic metres.
