Fretless Guitar Summit NYC & Brooklyn 2012
The original NYC Fretless Guitar Festival was created as an annual event in 2005 to celebrate the release of the definitive fretless guitar double CD “Village Of The Unfretted” on Unfretted Records and to promote the premier fretless artists and luthiers. The first event was held on September 10th-12th at the Knitting Factory and in Brooklyn at iO Restaurant and Lounge. Many of the top names in the fretless community participated the first year including Franck Vigroux, Elliott E# Sharp, Yan Vagh, Ratko Zjaca, Michael Vick, Tellef Ogrim and the Tom Baker Quartet. The 2006 Fretless Fest raised the bar once again with world renown artists like Dave Fiuczynski, Ned Evett, Jon Catler, Bora Yasar, Neil Haverstick, Simone Massaron, Scott McGill, Luca Formentini & Ed DeGenaro giving workshops & performances at the Knitting Factory. The 2008 event was held at Crash Mansion & The Delancey, and this line up was as diverse as ever with Ned Evett, Edward Powell, Michelle Webb, Jon Catler w/ Willie McBlind, Elliott Sharp/E#, Simon Yu, King B, Morgan Kraft, VVV, Aurelien Budynek and Mustafa Stefan Dill. Now, four years later, we are back with the 2012 Fretless Guitar Summit (Oct. 4th, 5th & 6th) in NYC/Brooklyn, and this event is looking to be another 3 days of fretless workshops, product demos & performances.
