CONDOMINIUM 50-50 ML Architects - Jr Architect.

Type: Residential Location: Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 3.200 m2 Year: 2019 It’s a residential project located in Envigado, Colombia. Each apartment house has a beautiful forest view, natural lighting, and ventilation. The project adapts entirely to the terrain, taking advantage of the unevenness and turning a possible difficulty into an opportunity, strategically positioning the volume for the location’s best visuals, and respecting regulations and norms.

CONTAINER HOUSE MODULAR HOUSES. Melissa López Torres

Type: Residential - Guest House Location: Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 60 m2 Year: 2020 It was the vision of a tiny guest house that could be modular and functional, independent from the main house. Due to its construction method, it could be transported and quickly installed. It has all the spaces and services necessary for a comfortable stay.

Two separate containers (private and social areas). We placed the containers based on the best conditions of the terrain.

Social Private

A platform links the two containers, and serves as a deck.

Viewpoint

ENTRY INTERMEDIATE SPACE

Pergola A pergola protects the passage between both containers and generates an intermediate covered space between the interior and the exterior.

VIEWPOINT DECK The containers open to the outside, taking advantage of the view and allowing the ventilation and natural lighting.

CARDIOVIDA PROJECT INTERIOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION Melissa López Torres

Type: Medical Services Location: Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 100 m2 Year: 2020 It is an entire project, from the interior design to final construction. We have to follow many rules and regulations because of the characteristics of the project, a medical office. Initially, there were two spaces then combined into a single space. The space’s interior design attempts to make the palette of colors, materials, and environments ideal for a welcoming medical office. The warm ambiance was studied and created to make patients feel tranquil.

VENTUS APARTMENT, INTERIOR DESIGN REFORM AND INTERIOR DESIGN Melissa López Torres

Type: Residential Location: Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 45 m2 Year: 2020 It’s an entire project, from interior design to final construction. The client wanted an industrial-style design to create a color and material palette with the apartment’s materials, leaving the exposed concrete. We added dark colors to contrast with the light wood and light-colored furniture.

GUATAPÉ CABIN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN Melissa López Torres

Type: Residential, lodgement Location: Guatape, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 120 m2 Year: 2021 The cabin design and location are by the Guatepe dam shore, allowing the volume to frame the landscape. One of the many features is the module’s design, allowing it to expand in the future.

TITIRIBÍ GLAMPING ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN, CONCEPT Melissa López Torres

Type: Lodgement Location: Titiribí, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 36 m2 Year: 2021 The project is a Countryside Glamping, a perfect place to rest and connect with nature. It was born with the idea to give the feeling of being inside a forest. The modules take the concept of a tree, raised with single support and a geometric shape that would allow us to organize the interior space.

JULILEO HOUSE ARCHITECTURAL EXTENSION DESIGN Melissa López Torres Type: Residential Location: El Retiro, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 213 m2 Year: 2021 It’s an extension project in which the client wanted to build another two floors and a mezzanine without modifying the current construction and to generate two independent housing units. Some of the requirements were for the modification to have access from the two streets surrounding the property so that each housing unit would have a separate entrance. The facade should be consistent with the whole building, the design of the internal distribution should follow the client’s requeriments. Open spaces, mobile doors, separate work-study spaces, and a lot of natural lighting and ventilation, taking advantage of the building location and weather. It is at the moment in the process of permits and the beginning of construction.

Due to the location’s topography, it allows a fantastic view of the valley. The rectangular volume’s configurations are according to the unevenness of the terrain, the regulations, and the city’s norms.

SAN CRISTOBAL TOWN HALL ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION ML Architects - Jr. Architect

Type: National public competition - public building Location: Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia Area: 7.324 m2 Year: 2019 The project develops around a historical construction; it requires creating new government buildings; each new facility will have its architectural design.

The context of the project allows generating a communal plaza for public use with green areas and reflecting pools.

HIPOTECHO SCHOOL ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION ML Architects - Jr. Architect

Type: National public competition - public building Location: Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia Area: 7.319 m2 Year: 2019 The creation of the project brings natural lighting inside the multi-purpose space; it also allows the integration of the first floor with the surrounding public areas. The fragmentation of the project is divided into three volumes with three different purposes or uses.

WATER LANDSCAPE RIONEGRO ARCHITECTURAL - URBAN DESIGN COMPETITION Melissa López Torres and Team

Type: National public competition - Urban and architectural design Location: Rionegro, Antioquia, Colombia Area: 7.319 m2 Year: 2021 The concept of this project presents three main ideas - first, the conservation of the surrounding ecosystems, allowing for interaction with nature. Second, it provides adequate public spaces necessary for the new urban dynamics. The third is to give the city a new environmentally friendly look, incorporating green public spaces.

The river is part of the ecosystem; the project tries to bring the river not as a division of two areas but as a fundamental part of the public space.
