It seems like yesterday this journey began, and yet here I am standing before you now on this last day as your Miss Klamath County’s Outstanding teen.
It has been one of the greatest honors of my high school career to serve the communities of Klamath and Lakeview for the past year, and I hope I’ve made you proud. This program has not only given me a new family and new friendships, but a new found self confidence. It has allowed me to give back to the communities that have given so much to me. I could go on and on about how amazing this program is and all that it has done for me and the other wonderful women I have had the pleasure to work with.
There are a few, very special people I want to personally thank for helping me grow as an individual. Debbie and Wendy, I can’t thank you enough for all you have done for me. From helping me through the pageant the day after my great grandma died, to giving me the confidence to go chase my dreams. You two have always been there for me, loving me and encouraging me. To my amazing life long supporter my mom. Thank you for pushing me to do this even when I was afraid I’d fail. I would never have gotten this far without you. I love you more Madre. Finally thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me from the very beginning. From showing support at our local pageant, to state, and all the social media posts. I’m where I am today from all of your support.
The Miss Oregon and Miss America programs have so much to offer young women, but they also have so much room to grow. I hope that they will continue to change for the better for the generations to come, and just maybe you’ll see me again to help accomplish it.
