The Team Mizzou scholarship program distributed over $100,000 at 2016’s Spring Roar Celebration of Excellence. Full- and half-ride scholarships were awarded, in addition to year-long academic textbook scholarships.
SPRING ROAR IS A CULMINATING EVENT THAT ALLOWS OUR DEPARTMENT TO AWARD OUR MOST OUTSTANDING TEAM MIZZOU MEMBERS. IT IS REGULARLY HAILED AS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR.
MizzouRec gives Team Mizzou members the opportunity to nominate their peers for some of the honors and awards that are celebrated at Spring Roar. The Pride of Team Mizzou, Service Excellence, Employee of the Year and Emerging Leaders awards are all based partly on nominations.
NOMINATE YOUR FELLOW TEAM MIZZOU MEMBERS FOR AWARDS
Active Team Mizzou members can expect to receive an email or two about nominations from TMAC representatives and area managers in early March. The Team Mizzou Advisory Council (TMAC) is Team Mizzou’s student-run leadership committee and each area of Team Mizzou has TMAC representative who helps keep everybody in the loop. Nominating fellow team members
MizzouRec awards textbook, half-ride and full-ride scholarships to Team Mizzou members each year. Here’s how the application process works: Keep an eye out for emails from TMAC and your area manager. Scholarship deadlines and information will likely be included in emails about award nominations. APPLY FOR TEAM MIZZOU SCHOLARSHIPS
Applicants must have a completed 20172018 FAFSA form to be considered. The scholarship application requires responses to a handful of essay prompts
requires the completion of a brief form on MizzouRec’s website. The form is passwordprotected and all of the access information will be available in the emails from TMAC and area managers. Before submitting nominations, we encourage Team Mizzou members to visit to bit.ly/tmzawards and read the descriptions of the awards. The required information includes: who you’re nominating, what award you think they should receive and why. Make sure to explain why they’re a good match for that particular award. There are no limits on how many nominations are submitted. It takes less than 10 minutes to help us recognize an outstanding team member for their contributions to the department!
about Team Mizzou experiences and how a scholarship would help further academic and career interests. Diligent applicants take advantage of the Writing Center when preparing resume and essay responses. Scheduling application review meetings with Team Mizzou professional staff prior to submission qualify for priority consideration. Applications will open in early February and close in mid or late March. Returning Team Mizzou Scholars can reapply for the scholarship that was received last year.
