Justin A. Borra Behavioral Health Center on the McLaren Northern Michigan Cheboygan Campus

Behavioral Health treatment, close to home

A new and much needed resource will open soon thanks to the generosity of more than 350 businesses, foundations, individuals, and government organizations that have made commitments to the cause.

In 2022, facility renovations began on the McLaren Cheboygan Campus to create the new Justin A. Borra Behavioral Health Center. Later this year, the 18-bed Pulte Family Charitable Foundation Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit will open, providing desperately needed inpatient psychiatric care for our region and beyond.

The McDonald Adult Partial Hospitalization Program will be opening as well. It will offer an intensive day program to provide step-down care for patients discharged from the inpatient unit, or step-up care from outpatient therapy.

Recruiting staff for the inpatient unit and partial hospitalization program is ongoing and a top priority. The hiring process has begun to fill the 28.5 full time clinical and support staff positions that are needed.

As current renovations approach completion, planning is underway to further expand behavioral health services on the Cheboygan Campus. We look forward to sharing more information as the project progresses.
