Growing Our Services: Orthopedic Surgery

Your gifts improve our Orthopedic Program.

“Is there any funding available?” This is one of the first questions asked when an unexpected issue arises somewhere in our hospital. In many cases, generous donations have enabled the Foundation to quickly disburse the necessary funding to meet a critical need. Recently an equipment need emerged in the orthopedic services program and gifts to the Unrestricted Fund made it possible to purchase new orthopedic surgical equipment.

Thanks to our donors, upgraded equipment was purchased. New orthopedic drills and an integrated power system, which have made it possible for surgeons to perform surgeries more efficiently. Fewer delays in surgery to change tools and batteries means less time under anesthesia and improved results for patients.

“There are many orthopedic needs in our area, having a team here on campus who are equipped with the critical equipment to provide surgical care, means we are able to serve our patients efficiently and effectively,” said Todd Burch, CEO, McLaren Northern Michigan. “We are grateful to the many generous donors who support our patients and make this care possible.”

We are truly thankful for your gifts to the Unrestricted Fund. These gifts make it possible for McLaren Northern Michigan to respond to needs throughout the hospital. Every gift impacts patient care – thank you!
