School Uniform: Dressing for Excellence ‘School Uniform and Dress Code’ is an important way of reinforcing this drive for excellence. Lasswade High School expects and strongly encourages all students to have as high a standard of uniform as possible since it can:
contribute to school security and personal safety
instil pride in the school and contribute to its values
promote a positive and professional work ethic
help students to see school as a place of learning
support positive behaviour and discipline
promote equality of opportunity and social justice
protect children and young people from social pressures (to dress in a
particular fashionable or expensive way)
nurture cohesion and promote good relations between different groups of students, and
foster a spirit of partnership among students and staff, between home and school, and between community and school.
Purchase of School Blazers and School Ties Order forms for new blazers should have been handed into the office before the end of term. We are inviting leavers to consider returning their blazers (assuming they are in good condition) through a ‘buy-back’ scheme. As such we are anticipating that there will be second-hand blazers available for purchase from the school office. These will be priced at £15.00 The new S1-S3 tie will be available to buy from the school office from 10th August – we will send a text message to parents closer to the time as a reminder.
