BUILD THE BASICS

By enrolling at Misericordia in the Choice Program, you’ve starting your education and you’re learning valuable skills, like research, writing, and communicating effectively, which support any major. Your core courses will give you a taste of a variety of subjects, one of which could kindle a deeper interest. And as you “learn to learn,” you’re gaining experience that will not only help you in your major, but will also transfer to the workplace after you graduate. Because of our strong liberal arts core, your first year and sophomore years provide the background you need for a flexible, lifetime education. With the addition of sports, clubs, spiritual and service activities, you’ll be growing into a unique individual, as well as a capable professional.

DETERMINE A MAJOR OR DESIGN YOUR OWN Being undeclared can actually be an advantage if you look at it as an opportunity for planning. Many students who enter college with declared majors later change them and sometimes spend more time (and money) making up credits as a result. Many high school students are unsure of their major and a career exploration process gives you the opportunity to see what is right for you and the professional you want to be. You can add internships, off-campus classes, overseas study and original or collaborative research to further fine tune your educational experience.

THE CHOICE

PROGRAM

WILL HELP YOU ANSWER QUESTIONS LIKE: ■■ ■■

■■ ■■

■■

What are my career goals?

What interest and skills do I possess that I can apply to a major and career? How will my values fit in with my career? Can my high school and community experiences help me? How can I find out what kind of jobs are out there?

■■

How do I know my choice will be fulfilling?

■■

Will I be able to get a job when I graduate?

Step by step, within a small group of other undeclared students, you will explore the world of possibilities and find where you fit in. You’ll have the tools for clear thinking and practical planning that will take you to the major and the career that are right for you. Our caring staff will guide you through the process from college orientation to career success.

AND YOU WILL SUCCEED!
