The Mirak Group is the leading grower of strawberries and many other high value vegetables and crops in the UAE and exports more than 40% of its production worldwide. Mirak also has developed and is currently operating the largest Open Field Hydroponic Growing System in the world. Since establishment in 1985, Mirak has endeavored to produce the highest quality crops for distribution in the local market and export our products all across the globe. More than 200 hectares of farms in the oasis of Dhaid-Sharjah, Al Hayer, Sweihan-Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah, annually produce more than 8000 tons of high value and quality produce, mostly grown Hydroponically in soil-less growing systems. Mirak uses latest technologies and techniques to produce Strawberries, Iceberg Lettuce, Lolo Roso, Radicchio, Flat (Helda) Beans, Runner Beans, French Beans, Okra, Celery, Capsicum Red, Green, Orange, and Yellow, Leeks, Cucumber, Beef Tomato, Bunched Tomato, Cherry Tomato, and a host of other high value crops which meet the highest standards of quality and packaging suitable for supermarkets, and consumers at large worldwide.

About Us - Mirak Agricultural Services Mirak Agricultural Services is the regions leading grower and exporter of fruits and vegetables for over 20 years. The name has become almost synonymous with locally grown, prime quality Fruits and Vegetables. The company has established different segments over past years which fall under The Mirak Group, the segments are: Mirak Agricultural Services, Mirak Trading LLC, Mirak Speaking Roses, Mirak Flowers, and Mirak Landscaping and Irrigation. The Mirak Group envisions becoming leaders in the region using new technologies and providing practical and efficient solutions to serving the needs and demands of the growing green sector, while focusing on sustainability and environmental protection. The technologies and techniques developed by Mirak specialize in growing our crops using locally designed, implemented and adopted Hydro-Ponic growing systems. Within these Hydro-Ponic systems, Mirak developed the Vertical, Channels, and Bench Pot Growing systems, adapted to the UAE climate. Saving more than 90% of water used in irrigation of crops by recycling back into the system, very low usage of high quality, soluble fertilizer applications, and very low and in many cases no usage of harmful chemicals at all, are among the main features of these growing systems.
Chemical fertilizers are seldom used and if necessary, we use the safest, highest quality fertilizers that are internationally acceptable and approved by the WHO. Instead, we implement a vigorous and wide range of preventive measures to avoid using chemicals on our crops. Now, for over 36 years, Mirak Agricultural Services have supplied the region and many parts of the world with superior quality, natural goods. Witnessing UAE’s rapid growth, we have also tailored innovative ways and developed advanced techniques of plant cultivation, specifically for the local climatic conditions. Growing vegetables and plants in the desert was once considered impossible, but with innovation, technology and determination these were accomplished.
A Deeper Look - Our Technologies Greenhouses & Germination Rooms Taking into consideration our local weather conditions, we built 10 hectares of controlled-environment greenhouses, of which 4 hectares are glass houses, 4 hectares of Polycarbonate houses and the remaining 2 hectares are plastics greenhouses. Seedlings are very delicate and need optimized weather conditions to develop properly. We use specially designed and manufactured seedling trays, that have helped us reduce the costs involved in production of seedling plants for cultivation. At our greenhouses we monitor the weather conditions carefully, ensuring the fastest and healthiest plant growth. Once the plants reach the right size it is safe to move them outside. Our state of the art Germination Room is a controlled environment which allows obtaining proper temperatures, humidity, and lighting for germinating various vegetable seeds under ideal conditions. Celery and Lettuce seedlings are a perfect example here. In UAE’s natural conditions the production would start only around January. Our germination room allows us to start sometimes as early as November, therefore locally grown lettuce and celery are available over a month earlier.
Hydro-Ponic Systems There are three types of Hydro-Ponic systems implemented in our farms. The Vertical Growing System consists of specially designed growing pots that allow vertical stacking of up-to ten pots on top of each other, filled with special mixture of media, and allows watering from the top draining downwards. At the bottom, a plastic collector container collects excess water and returns back to the main water reservoir, allowing water recycling as well as the fertilizers contained in the water, thereby saving water and fertilizers to a great extent. The Channels System is uniquely developed by Mirak Agricultural Services for open field production of vegetables and strawberries allowing recycling of irrigated water and fertilizers. Specially designed channels with perforated PVC pipes are installed under ground and topped with a specially blended growing media for plants to grow in. The Bench Pot Growing System is also uniquely developed, implemented and adopted to UAE Climatic condition by Mirak Agricultural Services. This system has proved to be the most efficient and suitable for growing many crops in the UAE harsh conditions that can compete with the best in the world. Mirak has the Largest open Field Hydro-Ponic Growing system in the World, with over 165 acres of this Bench Pot Growing System in all of our farms. These three systems, if implemented on a large scale in the UAE, and other regions, will preserve the natural resources of the country, mainly water, and will allow efficient and cost effectiveness of production of many vegetables with increased yields and quality.

Production Period Extension The production season in the UAE is normally from December through May, although we have been able to extend production to an earlier start and later finish than these periods by utilizing our unique facilities we have established in each farm. During the idle summer months when there are no production of vegetables, Mirak Agricultural Services has established one of the largest nurseries in the UAE for production and propagation of ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, ground covers, carpet grass (turf), as well as seasonal flowering plants for supply to local market of landscape and horticulture. All of the facilities are used during the summer whereby we are continuously busy and utilize the company resources effectively and optimally.
Post Harvest Treatment & Packaging Post-Harvest of our crops is the most crucial procedure of ensuring our customers receive the highest quality products from our farms. Our packaging materials are ensured the highest quality in order to store the fruits and vegetables in the optimum conditions for the consumer. We use latest technologies in Post-Harvest treatments such as: Vacuum cooling, Blast cooling, and Hydro cooling, and our distribution center
holds more than 18,000 tons of product in our state of the art Cold Storage facility. In order to ease the transportation and keep the “Cool Chain� for the products, our facilities include cold storages with pre-cooling chambers, vacuum cooling chambers, cooled packaging rooms, refrigerated trucks, etc. All of our staff are highly specialized and qualified in order to achieve highest quality yield, and we are constantly upgrading our Post-Harvest facilities in order to be able to deliver the best quality to our clients.
Floriculture & Horticulture The Floriculture division of Mirak partakes in wholesale distribution of fresh flowers to the UAE market, and exporting flowers worldwide. From fresh cut flowers, to outdoor pot plants, more than 1,000,000 plants of over 150 species are supplied every year to gardens, landscape projects, and export markets. Our flowers are grown with the utmost care of our state of the art greenhouses, and nurtured by a team of more than 12 Professional Florists and assistants. Mirak Agricultural Services has established one of the largest and most technically advanced nurseries for the production of ornamental outdoor and indoor plants, and seasonal flowering plants in the UAE and gulf region. Our facilities include state of the art germination rooms, one hectare of greenhouses, 20 hectares of nursery shades, cold storage facilities and labor force of more than 130 well
trained for the demanding high standard jobs. A selection of more than 20 species of seasonal flowering plants are propagated for supply to local markets and export. Main species are Petunias and Vinca Rosa which cover 70% of Dubai’s market. More than 150 species of outdoor and indoor plants and trees are propagated and kept ready for supply to gardens, landscape projects and export. Around 1,000,000 plants of various species are supplied every year. Due to the fact that we are the Largest Flowers Producer in UAE, that enables us to tackle the Retail Market with confidence, setting competitive prices without compromising the quality, allowing us to accomadate any and every type of requirement; personal, corporate events, weddings, functions, and standard arrangements.

Flower Operations - Mirak Flowers, Speaking Roses, ENOC, and Landcaping & Irrigation With a team of more than 12 Professional Florists and assistants, we are able to import flowers from Africa, Holland, South America, and Asia and export to GCC counties, Japan, Central and Southeast Asia. One of our newest clients is the Emirates National Oil Company. Under our union with ENOC we have established another outlet in which we can distribute our wide range of high quality flower arrangements and bouquets. We now deliver fresh flowers to 95 stations across the UAE, all of which are done on a daily basis in order to provide our, and thus ENOC’s, consumers with the highest quality, freshest flowers of alluring array and variety. Speaking Roses brings to life the ability to communicate effectively and powerfully with flowers. Through its unique, patented embossing technology, Speaking Roses provides a wonderfully natural way for people to express their feelings more powerfully than ever before; any message, in a variety of colors, in any language, to be clearly and beautifully embossed upon roses, flowers, and plants. The Mirak Landscaping includes the landscaping and irrigation affairs in the UAE. With the latest technologies, Mirak Landscaping conducts extensive and intensive projects, using the facilities from our production to cater the landscaping sector. Arcs, fountains, swimming pools, and everything in between, our classical and modern designs are state of the art.
From Us To You - Our Trading, Marketing & Distribution Center Our Distribution Center is the trading link for the Group to market our produce from our farms, carry out import operations, and perform the distribution of our fruits and vegetables. Our Distribution Center is also the source for all of our local transport, including our Mirak Flowers, ENOC and Royal Nature Operations. With more than 18,000 Tons of storage capacity, the main activities involve supplying to major supermarkets in the UAE, as well as exporting 40% of our production to world markets.

Beyond Borders - Our International Operations Observing the UAE’s high dependence on exports as well as the society’s growing concentration on the quality of food, Mirak is currently planning to expand its production and facilities. During the past 5 years, Mirak Group has setup hubs around the world in order to be able to fulfill the client’s demands in fresh produce and flowers. We specialize in Air Freight shipments and we have Emirates Airlines as our Strategic Partner, as they have the most advanced cool-chain management, thus insuring the best quality delivered to our clients worldwide. During the summer months, when the climatic conditions make it impossible to cultivate plants in the UAE, Mirak shifts its production to other countries in the Middle East. Channel systems for production of strawberry plants for supply to Mirak farm in UAE as well as other Middle East farms. The activities of the operation in the Middle East also include trading in fruits and vegetables produced all over the Gulf Region and Northern Africa. Mirak ensures the quality meets the standards required for the UAE and international markets.
With the growing demands of our produce in Europe, Mirak Group decided to setup a distribution center in Geneva, Switzerland. Mirak now has a fully functional hub in Geneva for supplying mainly flowers and other fresh produce. All the products that are air flown to Geneva are inspected and delivered to the client with the least transit time therefore insuring the freshness and quality of the products. We are always in the process in improving our facilities and processes in order to be able to deliver the products in the best conditions.
