Why don’t you Leave Campus? Beginning this year, I was selected to be in the 19th LG Global Challenge. Thus, I went to America for two weeks free of charge. How could I go to America for free? I want to introduce my first international activity, the LG Global Challenger.

the students hand in after the program. Furthermore, to those teams that receive the grand prize, LG provides an internship and can even offer the winning students a job. Meanwhile, LG publishes the students’ expedition report into a book and distributes it to universities and public libraries. LG also posts these reports on the LG Global Challenger website (www.lovegen.co.kr) so that students, companies, and government agencies can freely use them.
What do you need to be a Part of the LG Global Challenger?
LG Global Challenger is the first and oldest overseas expedition program for undergraduates. Students freely choose the expedition theme and country, and visit the ‘world’s excellent sites.’ Since its first introduction in 1995, it became the major overseas expedition program most popular among university students with the competitive rate of 21:1 every year.
When preparing, you may need some tips. So I want to tell you some tips as a senior.
1. Making a blueprint
The five expedition fields of the LG Global Challenger are Natural Science, Information Technology · Engineering, Economy · Management, Humanities · Social Science and Culture · Art · Gymnastics. The members of the LG Global Challenger spend 2 weeks of their summer vacation, according to each team’s autonomous expedition plan, participating in exploration activities in government agencies, laboratories, universities, companies and social organizations that have the world’s best knowledge and know-how. LG funds all the expenses during the expedition period including flight fees and expedition expenditures and also gives scholarships after reviewing the Challenger report that
Since this is a yearly program, it will start in the beginning of the year. When the LG Global Challenger recruitment begins in March, students form groups of four, decide their expedition topic and make a blueprint. The first stage is selecting a topic. It is important to select the expedition topic, but it is so hard and you might not be able to choose the subject easily. So here are some tips for selecting a topic. - Meet a professor : You can get the recommendations from him or her. - Read a magazine which you have never read : It is helpful for your sight to become wider. - Refer to a report which was made by the LG Global challenger before.
