INMINOTAREAK-5CLASSROOMSDURINGSCHOOLYEAR
This economics-based program is an opportunity for business leaders to teach young people the importance of the free enterprise system. Volunteers go into the classrooms of teachers who request to have Junior Achievement curriculum taught in their class. The curriculum lasts one hour a week for five weeks, and helps mold young people into smart consumers, credit savvy and ready for the real world Money used for this program goes towards purchasing the kits needed to teach 150 classes in grades K-5 in Minot public and private schools. This program is in its 21st year at the Chamber EDC.
Grade level programs include:
Kindergarten: Wants/needs, how to save money
1st Grade: Families, wants/needs
2nd Grade: Our community, elections, mass production
3rd Grade: Planning a City
4th Grade: Our region and the economy
5th Grade: Our nation and the economy
