McElroy Residence Community The four halls of McElroy—E, F, G, and H—are joined by a central corridor leading to the front desk, Preska and Carkoski Commons. Approximately 800 residents live in McElroy, including students enrolled in a Learning Community. McElroy G Hall is unique as the hall is coed by room and has two community bathrooms on each floor—one for men and one for women. Students may choose from basic or renovated room types. There is no additional charge to use the washers and dryers in any of the residence communities. Carkoski Commons, connected to Crawford, McElroy, and Preska, has Chet’s Place Grill and Convenience store located around the corner from the Residential Life office. Learning Communities
McElroy Residence Community houses most of New Student and Family Program’s Learning Community programs. First-year students wishing to live in a learning community will take some of their classes together and live in the same area of their residence community, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with other firstyear students. Each learning community has their own Learning Community Coordinator (LCC) who is dedicated to the academic success of every member as they transition to college life at Minnesota State Mankato.
