Salute Recognizes Women Drivers

Professional Drivers, We Salute You

Every year, the Women In Trucking Association (WIT) brings together hundreds of professional female drivers and their loved ones to celebrate their collective years of driving experience and safety accomplishments.

“A Salute is a sign of respect,” says Ellen Voie, WIT President and CEO. “We created our annual Salute to Women Behind the Wheel event 11 years ago to honor professional drivers for their commitment to the industry. Without them, our economy would come to a halt.”

This year’s event takes place in Louisville, Ky., at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) on Friday, March 27 from 4-6 p.m. (a new day/time to accommodate drivers’ schedules). In addition to refreshments, prizes, networking with exhibitors, and the iconic driver photo, the inaugural Women In Trucking Female Driver of the Year, sponsored by Walmart, will be announced.

“I attend the Salute event because I love the energy in the room and the opportunity to connect with other female drivers who share similar experiences,” explains Shannon Riffle, Professional Driver for Action Resources, Inc. “I am proud of what I do, and the recognition from Women In Trucking and the partner companies means a lot.”
