One-strike policy

THE REGION’S top cop has ordered a "one-strike policy” for police commanders in cities and towns, which means their jobs are on the line if politicians in their area get hurt or killed.

Major Eudisan Gultiano, the spokesperson of PRO XI, made this revelation during the AFP-PNP day at The Royal Mandaya hotel. "For the protection of the elected politicians, our regional director Brig Gen Benjamin Silo Jr. ordered directive of a "one-strike policy," which means that if there will be a politician that will be hurt, injured, or killed in their area of responsibility, immediately the chief of police or commander will be relieved from his post," Gultiano said.

"Because we wanted to prevent incidents that happened in Negros Oriental. That's why we put the responsibility to our commanders, particularly for the prevention that no politicians will be hurt here in Davao region," she added.
