Ralph Binns, DDS
Dr. Ralph Binns graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in pre-dental biology and then attended dental school at Marquette School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following dental school, Dr. Binns opened a private practice in Logan, Utah where he has practiced general dentistry for fifty-one years. He served on the Cache Valley Community Health Clinic board for several years while he volunteered in the clinic providing dental services for the underserved population. He also served as a volunteer dentist at the Midtown Health Clinic providing dental services for low-income individuals. Dr. Binns currently serves as a dental advisor in the Ogden mission. He has held that volunteer position since 2017. He has been an attending faculty member at the University of Utah School of Dentistry since 2017. Dr. Binns has been a member of the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association for the past fifty-one years. He has also served as president of the First District Dental Society. He and his wife Jane live in Logan, Utah. They are the parents of two daughters, and they have ten grandchildren. His work has been his main hobby, but he does enjoy spending time at Bear Lake, traveling with his wife, family and friends and attending Utah State University athletic events. He loves the dental profession and the service he has been able to provide. He is grateful for a most rewarding career.
Craig R. Proctor
Dr. Craig Proctor graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Health Education and then attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Following dental school, Dr. Proctor completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Utah Hospital. For the next several years, he maintained a private practice in Salt Lake City in association with Dr. Greg Beyeler. He became an Adjunct Faculty member with the University of Utah General Practice Residency program in 2003. Leaving his private practice, Dr. Proctor assumed the role as director of the Residency Program at the University Hospital and School of Dentistry in 2015. He also serves as the Chief of Dental Services for the University of Utah Hospitals. Dr. Proctor has served as a delegate in the Utah Dental Association from 1998 to 2010. He was the president of the Salt Lake District Dental Society from 2012 to 2013. He is an active member of the Utah Dental Association, American Dental Association, and holds fellowships in the Pierre Faurchard Academy, International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He is also a member of the Special Care in Dentistry Association, which focuses on providing dental care for people who cannot tolerate treatment in a traditional dental setting. He is an active member of the American Dental Education Association {ADEA]and works with the Commission on Dental Accreditation [CODA] as a site visitor. His interest in dentistry began at an early age when his family dentist, Dr. Wes Ingram and Dr. Jay Aldous allowed him to observe and learn about the profession in their private practices. “Paying it forward,” Dr. Proctor now enjoys working with and learning from the dental residents each year in the Residency Program. Over the past several years, he along with his wife Jana, have organized annual dental and medical mission trips to the Philippines and Ecuador to provide care to those who are underserved. These trips include dentists, physicians and dental students who are willing to share their skills and knowledge with those in need. Dr. Proctor and Jana are the proud parents of Tyler, who is a practicing chiropractor in Park City. They have two grandsons who occupy much of their free time. If not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Proctor on the shores of Lake Powell, mountain biking, traveling through the mountains on a snowmobile or discovering the world we live in by traveling to different countries. Dentistry is a very rewarding profession, and I feel more than lucky to be a part of it. I am appreciative of the many local dentists who give their time and talents to help teach the next generation of dentists in the residency program at the University of Utah. It is an honor to be associated with so many great people in our profession.
