Teeth - Dental Implants - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Visit coloradooralsurgery.com for more

“Over the years, I have had reason to see a variety of oral surgeons. My experiences have been varied but none have matched the satisfaction I’ve had with Colorado Oral Surgery. I trusted them to handle a very complicated, whole mouth reconstruction and have been entirely pleased with the process. They tackled my case with confidence and competence. They have been courteous, professional, timely, communicative, and above all, immensely capable and skilled.”

“We had an amazing experience at Colorado Oral Surgery! They treated my child with so much kindness and respect from the moment we walked in. The entire team was professional and compassionate, making sure my child was comfortable every step of the way. The procedure was incredibly fast, and everything went so smoothly. I couldn’t be more grateful for how well they took care of us. If we ever need oral surgery services again, this will definitely be our first choice! Highly recommend!”

Discover the Power of Glass in Your Home

Renovations and upgrades can be a game changer when aiming to increase the value of your home. One enhancement that has gained popularity among homeowners is the various uses of glass.

Consider the installation of glass shower doors. While they may seem like a purely aesthetic addition, these shower doors can offer significant benefits that contribute to the overall value of your property. Glass shower doors provide a modern and sleek look to any bathroom. Traditional shower curtains often appear dated and can make a bathroom feel cramped. In contrast, glass doors create an illusion of more space, allowing natural light to flow freely and showcasing beautifully designed tiles and fixtures. Another significant advantage of glass shower doors is their durability. Unlike shower curtains, which can wear out, tear, or develop mold, glass doors are built to last. They require minimal maintenance – a quick wipe-down with glass cleaner often suffices to keep them looking pristine.

Mirrors are crucial in home design and functionality, especially in closets and various rooms throughout the house. They serve several purposes that enhance both aesthetic appeal and practicality. One of the most significant benefits of using mirrors in closets is their ability to create the illusion of space. Space is particularly valuable in smaller rooms, where a well-placed mirror can open up the area, making it feel expansive. Mirrors can be strategically placed to improve lighting. By reflecting both natural and artificial light, they can brighten up dark corners and improve the overall ambiance of a room.

Glass tabletops serve a dual purpose by protecting the furniture underneath and providing an elegant aesthetic that enhances the overall décor. They can create a sense of openness in a room, making surfaces easy to clean and maintain.

Glass wine rooms can be a stunning addition to any home, offering an elegant display and a functional storage solution. The transparent walls allow for beautiful visibility of your wine collection while protecting it. To enhance the aesthetic, consider incorporating warm wood shelving or sleek metal racks for a modern touch. With its elegant display of your collection, a glass wine room becomes a stylish focal point in your home, adding a touch of sophistication to your living space.

Instead of solid walls, glass partitions should be considered to separate spaces. These partitions maintain an open feel while providing distinct areas, such as a home office or dining area. They offer practicality without sacrificing the spacious and open feel of your home.

Consider these uses of glass for your next project. Integrating these simple glass elements into your home creates a brighter, more spacious, and stylish environment.

Groundhog Phil might have been the bearer of bad news for some, but seeking out the silver lining of this extra six weeks of winter is easier than you may think.

As we wait a bit longer to crack open our windows, a relatively easy way to break the monotony of the walls within is through the magical power of redecorating.

I know, I know… redecorating can be a terrifying word. For even though we are excited by the vast possibilities of our Pinterested bedroom coming alive, we become paralyzed in the how-to of the real life details with seemingly minimal skill, a tight budget, and only optimism to light your way. But you don't have to be a professional interior designer to shake things up. Moreover, redecorating doesn’t have to be costly, daunting, or reserved only for folks rich in creativity and artistic talent. To get you started, here are a few entirely attainable resources and creative ideas:

Resale

• Thrifting has become quite trendy, so scouting the details of your local thrift shops is key to snagging treasured items.

Tip: Make note of store hours for sale days, as well. Often thrift stores have half-price days. And, if you snooze, you lose!

• Craigslist is a phenomal resource for furniture, wall hangings, and materials for projects.

Tip: To get the most bang for your buck, look for postings more than a week old, or search keywords such as "moving", "must go today," etc.

• Estate sales are great when it’s still too chilly for yard sales.

Tip: Another resource to pay special attention to is the hours of the event. Dealers love to be at the entrance at doors opening - join the big dogs!

DIY re fresh YOUR SPACE :

Barter

• Trading pieces with friends is sure to get some new-to-you goodies in your home for no cost at all, and make space by offering them yours.

Tip: Having an oral agreement that items are all on permanent loan will increase the likelihood of convincing your pals to swap their gems with you!

Paint & Wallpaper

• Painting does require a bit of care and effort, but it’s relatively inexpensive, and transforms an entire room.

Tip: I have undying love for paint edgers. For less than $5, there’ll be no more hand brushing trim for this less-than-meticulous painter!

• Wallpaper today is not what Grandma has glued onto her walls. This may require the help of a friend, and a vacant bathtub to soak the rolls, but wallpaper is another brilliant option that will alter a room in less than a day.

Tip: Using a paint roller, apply a thin film of clear premixed wallpaper paste on the back of the paper.

Upcycle

• Repurposing and re-stylizing is all the rage these days, and what Pinterest was practically founded on. Utilizing trinkets you already own, and making them new again is fun, cheap, and can make for great projects with your children.

Tip: Paint/stencil furniture; contact paper the inside of bookshelves; recover chairs, etc.

• Utilizing items for purposes other than what they’re intended for is a sure way to spend absolutely nothing.

E.g. Stack up vintage suitcases to create a table; convert old wooden ladders into a new home for books; use drapes as a shower curtain, shutters for headboards, etc.

Room Swap

• Walls can’t always be moved, but rooms can! The layout of your home doesn’t have to be any certain way. Look for ways to change the purpose of the spaces you have.

Tip: Are your living room and dining room interchangeable? Is the dining room hardly ever used? Throw up a rod, some drapes, and create a cozy reading nook.

Culinary Chronicles

We had been searching for a great Italian restaurant for our family, and Portofino Pizza and Pasta was highly recommended. The restaurant is nestled in a strip mall just off Parker road and Mainstreet.

We arrived around 4:45 pm on a Sunday, thinking we would beat the dinner rush to feed our hungry littles. To our surprise the restaurant was bustling when we stepped in, and the wait time was already over 40 minutes. Luckily they had a cancellation, so we were seated very quickly.

There is a welcoming feel to the dining area with wood tables and dark, wine colored walls. A mural of Portofino on the back wall had us longing for a vacation on the coast of Italy.

The menu includes a treasure trove of Italian favorites. I enjoyed the lasagna bolonese which was layered with just the right amount of sauce and cheese and broiled in an oval ramakin. My husband ate every bite of his chicken sal timbocca and my boys were very happy with their fettuccini alfredo and chicken strips.

We dug into a basket of garlic knots with our dinner. They were the perfect balance of fluffy and crisp with a zip of garlic that managed not to be overwhelming.

Despite being packed, our food came out promptly and an army of servers checked on us regularly.

We left happy, full, and with to-go boxes for lunch the next day. If you are looking for a go-to Italian spot, Portofino Pizza and Pasta won’t disappoint. Just make sure to call ahead for your table! We are looking forward to trying the pizza next time.

The Importance of Upgrading Your Mattress in Space Remodels

When it comes to space remodels, numerous elements are considered to achieve the perfect transformation. From selecting the right color palette to choosing the ideal furniture and decor, every detail counts. However, one crucial aspect often overlooked is upgrading the mattress. This essential component of your bedroom plays a significant role in your overall well-being.

A high-quality mattress is more than just a place to sleep; it is an investment in your health. An old, wornout mattress can lead to a myriad of health issues, including back pain, neck pain, and poor sleep quality. Upgrading to a new mattress can significantly improve your sleep posture, provide better support, and reduce pressure points. This, in turn, can alleviate chronic pains and promote a healthier spine.

Sleep is a cornerstone of good health. Poor sleep quality can lead to a host of problems, such as weakened immune function, increased stress levels, and impaired cognitive performance. By upgrading your mattress during a space remodel, you ensure a comfortable and supportive sleeping environment that fosters high-quality rest. Improved sleep can enhance your mood, boost productivity, and overall, improve your quality of life.

The right new mattress can also be an opportunity to reconsider the layout and functionality of your space. With the plethora of options available today, you can choose a mattress size that better fits your room dimensions or upgrade your sleep by adding an adjustable base that will give you deep, restorative, sleep.

Upgrading your mattress is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of space remodels. The benefits of a new mattress extend far beyond aesthetics, impacting your health, sleep quality, and overall wellbeing. By considering a mattress upgrade with an adjustable base during your next remodel, you invest in yourself and create a space that truly supports your lifestyle. Prioritize your sleep and comfort, and the rewards will be manifold—enhancing both your physical and mental health, while also adding a touch of elegance and functionality to your remodeled space.

WHEN DO I NEED A BUILDING PERMIT

What projects require a permit?

Some common projects that require a building permit include, but are not limited to:

To Permit, Or Not To Permit

Spring is just around the corner and our thoughts turn to home improvement

As you consider making changes or upgrades to your home, remember that in most cases, a building permit is required. Before you start that project, give the Building Division a call to discuss the need for a permit. It’s also a good idea to check in advance with your local Homeowner Association’s architectural control committee to determine if there are any neighborhood restrictions that apply.

Why get a building permit?

Building permits are required by law, but they also provide third-party verification that you (or the contractor you hired) met the minimum code requirements for your project. They also provide the homeowner with an inexpensive resource for construction-related questions and give you access to expertise in all fields, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, framing, and finish.

• Basement Finishes

• Decks and Patios

• Furnaces/Air Conditioners (new or replacement)

• Gazebos or Shade Structure

• Pools and Hot Tubs

• Re-roofing

• Large Structures, Garden Shed, Garage (over 120 sf)

• Interior Remodel

• Any Plumbing Work

• Any Electrical Work

• New Siding

• Windows - Replacement or New Installations

• Porches/Patio/Deck Covers

How do I get a building permit?

Building permit application forms, plan review requirements, permit fees, building guidelines, and the Homeowner building class schedule can all be accessed on the Town’s website at www.parkeronline. org/building. The Town’s Building Division has introduced two new programs to assist homeowners, contractors and small business owners with their next building or remodeling project. The new EZ Residential Permits Program gives you the opportunity to work directly with their experienced Building Division staff in a one-on-one meeting. A form will be sent via email one week in advance of your meeting so they can gather information about your project.

If you have any questions about your project, please contact the Building Department at 303.841.1970 or visit them online at www.parkeronline.org/building.
