ACO ParkDrain® THE NEXT GENERATION OF SURFACE DRAINAGE Load Class (BS EN 1433:2002)

Optimum solution

Benefits for specifiers

ACO ParkDrain is a one piece polymer concrete drainage system which has been designed as the optimum solution for a wide range of surface drainage applications requiring Load Class C 250 installations.

One piece design means no separate grating specifications

Colour choice to match location - black (asphalt) as standard, other colours available to order e.g. white and yellow (lines and markings), buff/beige (standard paving), red (brick paviours) etc.

Simplified level and stepped system for quick scheme design

®

Lower costs It has been specifically designed to reduce installation time and provide inexpensive maintenance over its whole life.

Benefits for contractors

It offers cost advantages for architects, engineers, contractors and clients.

Simple scheme layouts with level invert units

Open-minded innovation

Light weight (typically 16 - 20 kg/unit) for easy one man lift enables compliance with Health and Safety guidelines

ACO ParkDrain is the result of over 30 years’ development of innovative surface drainage solutions for highways, local authority, retail, commercial and domestic users. ®

Standards compliance ACO ParkDrain® has been certificated to Load Class C 250 (BS EN 1433:2002) and BS EN 124:1994 for gully and access units. Contact ACO Technical Department for standards details and copies of Load Test certificates.

2

Easy to achieve excellent watertightness (to BS EN 1433:2002) with sealing groove

Benefits for clients

Integral unit without separate grating style top eliminates lost or damaged gratings

Unobtrusive, self-coloured grating maintains appearance and colour with time

Rodding access units and sumps with separate locking resin composite grating, allows easy maintenance

Resin concrete unaffected by frost No removable gratings makes system suitable for schools and play grounds

ACO Mini ParkDrain® FOR RESTRICTED DEPTH INSTALLATIONS Load Class (BS EN 1433:2002)

ACO ParkDrain速 CHANNEL DRAINAGE

Hydraulic choices with ACO ParkDrain速* 1. Constant invert, level ground

- effective drainage but may need more regular maintenance due to greater chance of silting.

2. Constant invert, sloped ground

- improved hydraulic capacity over system 1.

3. Stepped invert, level ground

- will give a similar hydraulic capacity to system 2.

*ACO Mini ParkDrain速 only available as constant invert

Minimal lifetime maintenance

ACO ParkDrain® INNOVATION IN APPLICATION

ACO ParkDrain® is the next generation of surface drainage with major advantages in car parks, pedestrianised areas and hard-landscaped locations. Its one piece design with integral grating means it is not vulnerable to vandalism or loosening. Rodding Access units and the universal Sump unit ensure easy maintenance. It is a product especially recommended to be used in schools where children play due to its monoblock composition it has no removable parts which could lead to injury. Its Load Class C 250 certification means it can be deployed in a wide number of locations where light vehicle traffic can be expected.

6

Its unique colouring means it can either be unobtrusively blended with its surroundings - e.g. coloured as the adjoining pavement - or used as a marker or even signage e.g. coloured white or yellow to mark roads. The colour is maintained, no rubbing off or being dissolved. It is compatible with all types of paving materials, and the flat sides enable pavements to be laid directly to the unit’s edge.

ACO Mini ParkDrain® Complementing the range, ACO Mini ParkDrain® is specifically designed to provide a drainage solution for small drainage areas and applications that have restricted depth installation.

The maximum catchment depth drained by the channel may be derived from the tables. For total flow Q (l/s); Catchment Depth CD (m); Length of channel to outlet Lo (m); Rainfall intensity i (l/s/m2) Then Q = CD x Lo x i.

8

Hence CD = Q / (Lo x i)

Sump unit knockouts suit Constant Depth unit depths as indicated in the product table. ACO sump units allow two way drainage unit connection with discharge to sub-surface drainage.

Note: See product table to matching inlet/outlet endcap with correct drainage unit. Outlet endcaps are supplied as two components to be site assembled to suit flow direction.
