Advancing Healthcare in Ellis County S

ince 1914, countless Ellis County families have relied on Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie to meet their healthcare needs. While the technology and skill of the hospital’s team have made tremendous strides forward over the last 100 years, an unwavering commitment to meeting the needs of the community both in good times and during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic has remained the same.

What started as a small, two-story building on Main Street is now a full-service medical campus, which opened in its current location at the intersection of I-35 and Highway 287 in late 2014. The campus features warm, modern care facilities focused on creating a healing environment while providing many advanced capabilities and technologies typically found only in large urban hospitals.

Complete care that’s close

From emergency care to pregnancy and childbirth, heart and vascular care, advanced orthopedic services, comprehensive cancer care, GI services, weight loss procedures and more, Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie is ready to meet the medical needs of Ellis County residents. The medical center continues to recruit new providers to the medical staff, recently adding specialists in spine surgery, general surgery and sports medicine to name just a few. Plans are also in the works for additional capabilities and care units.

“Our goal is to continue to grow this hospital and our services out in the community, so that our neighbors never feel like they have to leave Ellis County to receive quality care,” explains Will Turner, president of Baylor Scott & White –Waxahachie.

In addition to primary care, the clinic also offers imaging, on-site lab, urgent care, access to diet and behavioral health services, and appointments with endocrinology and orthopedic specialists for certain patients.

To this end, Baylor Scott & White has expanded its footprint in the community. In September 2020, Baylor Scott & White Primary Care – Midway opened its doors in Midlothian, bringing a forward-thinking model of care to the community.
