Residents aged 50 and older enjoy activities designed to promote physical and mental wellness at Midlothian’s Senior Activity Center. For a $5 annual fee, members can visit the center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, to play card and board games, make artsand-crafts projects, use computers, participate in exercise classes and have lunch. The center provides free morning snacks in addition to lunch daily. Musical entertainment, educational seminars, and field trips are frequently on the schedule as well. A caring and experienced staff work hard to provide quality services and programs in a safe and comfortable environment. Free van transportation to and from the center is available for members that live within a five-mile radius of downtown Midlothian. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the fellowship, make new friends and have fun.

A.H. Meadows Public Library

Located on the campus of Midlothian High School, A.H. Meadows Public Library offers an extensive catalog of books and other materials for checkout, including a vast array of DVDs and newly released books every month. Additionally, library patrons have access to more than 70 research databases and a wealth of electronic resources including audiobooks and videos for all ages, free of charge. The librarian will assist groups in organizing book clubs and other library-related activities. In the summer, the library offers reading programs for school children. Activities for moms and toddlers are held throughout the year. Space is also available at the library for community use. Visit the library website to apply for a library card online.

Midlothian Fire Department
Every responding apparatus is staffed with firefighters/ paramedics who are trained to assist with complex or lifethreatening situations. The Midlothian Fire Department has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline Gold Plus Award for its Emergency Medical Service implementation of quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience severe heart attacks.
