alla scuola superiore del Conservatorio per i bambini musicalmente dotati. Dopo la laurea, ha proseguito gli studi presso il Conservatorio con il professor Mikhail Vaiman. Nel 1967 Mikhail Gantvarg vinto il Concorso Paganini internazionale per violinisti a Genova e nel 1969 divenne Laureate del Concorso Nazionale russa. Tra il 1975 e il 1987 Mikhail Gantvarg stato primo violino dell’Orchestra Accademica della Filarmonica di San Pietroburgo. Nel 1987 ha fondato l’orchestra da camera “I Solisti di San Pietroburgo” e divenne il suo direttore artistico. Oltre al suo lavoro con The Saint Petersburg Soloists, Maestro Gantvarg esibisce regolarmente in duo con Irina Rumina al pianoforte, ed è docente di violino presso il Conservatorio di San Pietroburgo. Tiene regolarmente corsi di perfezionamento in Austria e Germania. Il San Pietroburgo Solisti, sotto la direzione del M ° Gantvarg, visita regolarmente in Germania, Spagna, Israele, Corea, Francia, Paesi Bassi, Svezia, Italia, Lussemburgo e negli Stati Uniti. Registrazioni del Maestro Gantvarg includono oltre 50 CD pubblicati a livello internazionale. Mikhail Gantvarg ha anche ricevuto l’apprezzamento e il plauso del suo paese, di essere nominato un “Artista onorato della Russia”.

Served as a Concertmaster of the Chilean Philharmonic, Graunke Orchestra (Germany), Chilean National Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, Brevard Symphony, and Orlando Symphony. Teachers: David Oistrakh, Viktor Pikaisen, and Galina Barinova (Moscow Conservatory). Awards: First prize, Jeunesse Musical Competition of Latin America (1970) and the Japan Foundation Prize (1982). Regular guest artist in festivals, including Grand Tetons in Wyoming, Florida International Festival, International Music Academy (Siena, Italy), Symphonic Workshop in Czech Republic, Frutillar in Chile, and Summer Fine Arts Camp in Fairbanks, Alaska. Andrei Bondarenko, baritone (Russia, Mariinsky Opera Academy of Young Singers) The young Ukrainian baritone, Andrei Bondarenko, has been a member of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers since 2007. Despite his young age he has already won prizes in many international competitions including the 2011 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World song prize, the 2006 International Rimsky-Korsakov competition and the first prize at the international vocal competition “Art in the 21st Century” in Vorzel (Ukraine). This season Andrei will give his role debuts as Billy in Billy Budd at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, St. Petersburg and as Eugene Onegin at the Bolshoi Theatre Minsk. He will also sing the count in Le Nozze di Figaro at Perm Opera which will get recorded by the Sony Classics label. He will sing Yeletzky in Pique Dame with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy and record Rachmaninov songs together with Iain Burnside at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh on the Delphian Label. Andrei will continue his relationship with Gary Matthewman after their successful collaboration at Carnegie Hall, giving recitals in England and Italy. Future seasons include the title role in Onegin at Glyndebourne Festival Opera as well as Cologne Opera. Andrei made his North American debut singing a solo recital in Carnegie Hall, New York (Weill Hall), he had his role debut as Pelléas in Pelléas et Mélisande at the Mariinsky Theatre under the baton of Valery Gergiev, his Glyndebourne touring Opera debut as Malatesta in Don Pasquale (conducted by Enrique Mazzola) and will returned in summer 2012 to the Glyndebourne Festival Opera to sing his first Marcello in la Bohème (conducted by Kirill Karabits).
