Catherine Mary Symonds Catherine Mary Symonds, 67, of Edgewater, died Saturday, Sept. 24, at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater. Born in Liverpool, England, Mrs. Symonds moved to this area in 1977. With her husband, Fred, she owned Crown Canvas in Edgewater for more than 25 years, during which time she was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce. A volunteer at Edgewater Library, Mrs. Symonds enjoyed gardening and sewing, loved country music and dancing and traveled extensively in the United States and England. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Fred; a daughter, Deborah A. Linn and her husband, Greg, of Ormond Beach; a son, Robin Symonds and his wife, Karol, of Edgewater; four sisters, Elizabeth Maholias and her husband, Gus, of Ormond Beach, Nora O’Neil of Birkenhead, England, Tina Culley of Liverpool, England, Collette McHale and her husband, Robert, of Gresham, Ore.; a brother, Alfred Kelly of Liverpool and a grandchild Jacob Linn. Mulvey is serving four years of probation after pleading no contest in August to charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property. A warrant for Mulvey’s arrest was issued on Sept. 14, 2011 after he was accused of violating the terms and conditions of his probation. Mulvey’s last known address was on North Segrave Street in Daytona Beach. He also listed a previous address on Botefurh Road in Daytona Beach, but his present whereabouts are

Celebration of Life Service for Frank Luis Landrove, age 83, of New Smyrna Beach, who died Sunday, Sept. 25, surrounded by his loving family in Nashville, will be 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Settle-Wilder’s New Smyrna Beach chapel, with The Rev. Larry Husebo, Christ Community Church, New Smyrna Beach, officiating. Born in Miami, Mr. Landrove, a retired Director of Environmental Health for Volusia County, moved to this area in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, received his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Miami in 1950, and continued to support the school as an alumni. Survivors include two sons, John and his wife, Wanda, and Frank III, all of New Smyrna Beach; two daughters, Theresa Wells and her husband, John, of Murfreesboro, Tenn, and Anna Peatross of New Smyrna Beach; one brother, John Landrove of Orlando; one sister, Anna Halbert of Hialeah; five grandchildren, Lisa Wells and her companion Jeremy Holloway, Nathan Wells and his wife, Jennifer; Frank Landrove, and Andrew and Daniel Peatross; and five great grandchildren.
