Join the Great British September Clean
K
eep Bromsgrove Beautiful (KBB) are encouraging local residents, schools, organisations, clubs and businesses to join the national initiative to keep our local areas clean and litter free. The Great British September Clean (GBSC) takes place from 11th to 27th September and is organised by Keep Britain Tidy (KBT). The aim of the GBSC is for communities to come together, clean up their local environment and have fun, whilst staying safe at all times. The Covid-19 guidelines set out by KBT suggest litter picking alone or in household groups, or working in pairs or small groups (maximum 6 people). The advice is to use your own equipment where possible and if equipment is borrowed it should be sanitised before and after use. During the September clean, Bromsgrove residents are encouraged to clean up their local area and record their activity online via the KBB Litter Log www.tinyurl. com/KBBLitterLog In 2019 the GB Spring Clean saw almost 300 volunteer hours and over 160 bags of rubbish collected – a fantastic community effort. The residents at The Oakalls and Parklands, Bromsgrove are organising a group litter pick on Sunday 13th September. It is hoped that local schools who have received KBB litter picking kits thanks to grants made by Cllrs Shirley Webb and Luke Mallet will take part. Everyone is urged to do what they can to Keep Bromsgrove Beautiful. Keep an eye on www.facebook.com/groups/ KeepBromsgroveBeautiful for updates and to share your clean up activities during the Great British September Clean.
