In accordance with DepEd Memorandum 244, S 2011, the English Department held a program called “Araw ng Pagbasa” last November 28, 2022 This activity is done every school year and it aims to encourage students to bring back their love for reading and also involving parents on the process

After that, Mr John Miguel F Morales, Co-Adviser of the English Club showcased the Booklat program Then, a video showing teachers from the English Department reading with their family members was presented

At the end of the program, Mrs Joan C Samosa, President of the English Department delivered her closing remarks The program was made possible through the support of the English Department teachers and the English Club officers headed by Keira Reese B Gravamen

The new law aims to promote responsible use of SIM and give law enforcement agencies the resources they need to deal with crimes concerning its usage Furthermore, it deters fraudulent registration and allows law enforcement access to user data to look into any crimes involving the use of mobile devices

According to the law, all SIM users, existing or new, need to register their SIMs with their current telcos As a result, the LGU, or local government unit, was held accountable for informing their constituents about the need to register SIM cards and providing instructions on how to do so

Here's the step-by-step registration process online:

1 Access the SIM registration website or application

2 Enter your 10-digit mobile number and click the "Register" or "Send One Time Password" button

3 If you ' re eligible to register, you’ll receive an OTP text message on your mobile phone

4. Enter the 6-digit OTP and wait for it to be validated You can then proceed with registration

5 Enter all required fields: name, birthday, gender, address, etc

6 Click the "Upload/Take a Photo" button to upload a copy of your valid ID.

7 Click the "Submit" or "Next" button to finish the registration process

Additionally, SIM cards for people under the age of 18 must be registered in the name of a parent or legal guardian Registration is also necessary in order to utilize roaming services while abroad Lastly, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) stated in a joint statement that the SIM registration deadline, which is set for April 26, 2023, is based on legislation and cannot be postponed
