The Red Sorghum Art Troupe … Chinese New Year Celebration
Was held on February 15th and it was an exciting and fun filled Lunar New Year celebration.
The Red Sorghum Art Troupe was led by Haiyan Song who is a masterful choreographer, excellent troupe leader and a graceful dancer herself. The troupe performed at least eight dances and songs, and was shown love and appreciation by the ample applause from the New Frontier residents and visitors. We look forward to seeing more of the Red Sorghum Art Troupe in the coming years. Our new Mayor, Ms. Emily Ramos made a personal appearance at the Red Sorghum Art Troupe performance and Chinese New Year celebration. We were pleased and surprised, as we always welcome our City leaders to our events. The Multicultural Engagement Program, Senior Coordinator Nancy Amalia Ducós Díaz from the City of Mountain View, sent a representative Ariana Menhenett, whom we welcomed and enjoyed having as well.
There was a fundraiser raffle for this event to support the Sunshine Activities Committee. John won this cuddly bear and quickly proceeded to take good care of it. The whole event was full of fun, positive energy and engaging activity.
APRIL 2026 Coffee Klatch
Coffee Klatch will be held on April 17th at 10:30AM in the Clubhouse
February 2026 Coffee Klatch
The February 2026 Coffee Klatch was hosted by Steve and Rose. The theme was the Winter Olympics. Each resident received a Gold Medal and was required to participate in the curling competition where donuts were used on the table tops instead of a curling stone. There was no clear winner but many left a few pounds heavier than when they arrived.
Jacquie’s Inspirations
Get Rid of Garden Weeds Naturally
This time of year we see so many weeds popping up in our gardens. If you use chemical herbicides to kill weeds, it can really be detrimental to our health and the environment. They contain chemicals that have been linked to serious long term health conditions such as liver inflammation, metabolic disorders, cancer, kidney damage and neurological disorders.
There are other effective ways of killing weeds without harming your health or the environment. Why not give one of these a try?
1. White vinegar - Pour white vinegar directly on the weeds.
2. Salt - Pour some salt on weeds on a dry, sunny day.
3. Vodka - Mix three tablespoons of Vodka with two cups of water in a sixteenounce trigger-spray bottle. Spray it on the weeds, saturating them.
There is one more natural way that I particularly enjoy - and that is pulling them by hand! I find it very satisfying to pull a weed out, especially right after it rains and the soil is moist. They come out so easily. It’s also very meditative to work like that in the garden. I try to go out most afternoons to pull weeds, trim vines or cut off dead flowers.
So, whatever natural method you choose to use, just make sure you are not putting any of the above-mentioned mixtures on plants that you don’t want to kill. If the weeds are close to other plants, then I recommend pulling them by hand. If you can’t do it yourself, you can always hire someone to do it for you. If you pull them by hand, and get the whole root, then they won’t come up in that spot again. Let’s all work together to improve our health and the environment.

How to solve sudoku puzzles
April Sudoku
No math is required to solve a sudoku. You only need logic and patience.
Simply make sure that each 3x3 square region has only one instance of the numbers 1-9. Similarly, each number can only
appear once in a column or row in the larger grid. The difficulty on this puzzle is easy.
The headline is a clue to the answer in the diagonal.
