INTRODUCTION
As part of a team, I assisted the Design Director to select and source FF&E materials based on the designs presented to the client for three typical guestroom schemes. I collaborated with manufacturer representatives to find appropriate materials that conformed to our strict performance standards and aesthetic and budgetary needs. I prepared presentation boards to include in client presentations and approval, assisted in putting together InDesign presentations, and coordinated material sample presentation packaging and shipping for client review without a design presentation. As the design, materials and finishes were approved, I started writting specifications.

Hotel Talmadge is a boutique hotel located in the historical district of downtown Savannah, Georgia. It caters to single and family tourists, business travelers, and local people between the ages of 25-55. As well as, companies and events in need of medium to large meeting or gathering spaces .
Create a modern business and family oriented hotel that serves tourists and locals alike in an environment that celebrates Savannah’s historical heritage, by melding historical characteristics of Savannah’s architecture with the warmth and comfort characteristic of southern hospitality.
GOALS Provide a wide range of services comparable to those offered by large brand name chains at an intimate level. Provide accommodations that suit both tourists and business travelers, as well as, local peolple and companies by offering all the amenities needed to conduct business or to relax, socialize, and entertain.

ur client is a new citizen and investor in Savannah, Georgia, who has just acquired two adjacent historic buildings in need of rehabilitation. She has recently joined the Savannah Historic Foundation and wishes to develop a new concept that would allow this hotel to stand-out from the current market offerings.
The current condition of the structures is of disrepair. In order to achieve the goals both buildings must be consolidated, the existing architectural elements must be renovated and the former office building must be consolidated, the existing architectural elements must be renovated and the former office building must be adapted to be reused as a hotel. The hotel shall meet the needs of the modern-day American traveler by offering business support services, and a welcoming environment for tourist in a fun and inviting setting, which embraces the exploration and discovery of the historic city of Savannah.

Organic shapes recreate the serenity and reviving experiences. Horizontal rectilinear forms recreate the illusion of plannification and relaxacion. Playing with vertical lines to create vibrancy. Intersecting lines to achieve the melding experience.

Consolidating both buildings allowed the design of comfortable and open spaces. While the natural rectilinear nature of the building posed an excit ing opportunity for creative ways to implement a melding concept of lines and architectural characteristics in the space. The relocation of the elevators in place of the town house’s exit stairs improved the organization and move ment throughout the space.
