INTRODUCTION
DESIGN STATEMENT
DESIGN SOLUTION
Eliana's Light is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the Washington, DC area founded by Whitney Ortiz after the passing of her daughter, Eliana, in 2016. Eliana's Light supports families with children who have complex medical conditions by connecting families with additional information, resources, and community members, who they call "stars," to provide physical, mental, emotional, and financial assistance to the families they support. Eliana's light branding includes a muted color palette that lacks color contrast. The logo consists of lines and circles representing the output of a light source; the elements are thin and lack presence and importance. The foundation needs a new image and a new branding strategy to better relay the vital work they perform.
Incorporate thought-evoking iconography to strengthen the brand's identity and improve user experience. Create an identity that supports the foundation's values based on care, love, empathy, and compassion. The new logo design for Eliana's Light shall depict the strong characteristics recognized in the foundation's work - they are passionate and caring for the families they assist.
We will redesign the logo iconography and color scheme to convey the work they do clearly. In addition, design collateral material and update the website design to create a cohesive and strong brand. We introduce the adult hand holding a baby's hand with starlight shining on top of them for their logo iconography to symbolize the care the foundation provides with Eliana's light guiding their efforts.
