FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE My Florida Regional MLS adds over 6,000 new Realtor® members, hires new employees My Florida Regional MLS one of the five largest MLS companies in the United States ORLANDO, Fl -‐-‐ May 10, 2011 -‐-‐ My Florida Regional MLS (MFRMLS), a company that provides Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and other real estate products to real estate professionals, is set to add over 6,000 Pinellas Realtor® Organization (PRO) and West Pasco Board of Realtors® (WPBOR) members to its listing area and services on May 18, 2011. Additionally, since March 1, 2011, MFRMLS has hired ten new employees to accommodate growth. “We welcome our 6,000-‐plus new members with open arms,” said Merri Jo Cowen, MFRMLS chief executive officer. “This expansion effort eliminates artificial barriers in many of our cross-‐over listing areas and will better serve all of our combined membership. “I am also beyond thrilled with the ten new, dynamite employees we have.” This past October (2010) and January is when PRO and WPBOR, respectively, signed agreements to become shareholders in MFRMLS. MFRMLS is a consortium of 17 Realtor® Associations and Boards throughout Central and Southwest Florida, and all but one association and one board are MFRMLS shareholders. Representatives from MFRMLS shareholder associations and boards actively participate in shaping policy and in strategic direction, in order to benefit all members and their real estate communities. Since 1995, the year MFRMLS formed, MFRMLS has grown from six associations and boards to 17 associations and boards today, including PRO and WPBOR. MFRMLS now has over 32,000 members, making it one of the five largest MLS companies in the United States. MFRMLS continues to look for new growth opportunities, whether it’s through the hiring of new employees, the expansion of its listing areas to new associations and boards or the addition of new products and services for its members.
