Where does the Money Go?

Independent businesses bring substantial benefits to local economies compared to their chain competitors. While chain stores and chain restaurants extract locally-generated revenue from the community with each bank transaction, independents create a virtuous cycle of local spending, producing more jobs for residents, increased tax revenue for local governments, more investment in both commercial and residential districts, and enhanced support for local nonprofits.
