The Uvas Creek path is a dividing line between the calmness of the natural world and the insanity and stresses of our daily lives. The trail is also the best (but certainly not the quickest) way to get from one end of town to the other. Forget the potholes on Monterey Road or the endless roundabouts on Santa Teresa Boulevard.
A paved trail runs for roughly two miles along the boundary of the Uvas Creek Park Preserve, proving time and time again to be a popular spot for bicyclists, as well as joggers and walkers. The trail runs from the Gilroy Sports Park near Highway 101, past Gilroy High School and Christmas Hill Park, through the Heartland Dog Park (another favorite of readers) and ending near Gilroy Gardens.
