Nanotechnology Providing answers to Key Healthcare Issues: CM Nanotechnology is a very relevant area of science for India has been providing promising answers to a large number of problems in health, engineering, new materials, environment and medicine, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala Shri Oommen Chandy said. He was speaking at the inauguration of an interactive meeting of scientists and delegates on the second day of the three-day Indo-German conference on Laser Applications and Nanoscience. Lasers and nano materials are proving to be of immense significance in the healthcare sector, he said. “Various types of lasers are extensively and successfully used in medical diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical therapy,” he said.

Dr. Monika Sharma, Senior Program officer, DFG, India, delivered the welcome address and Prof. K. P. Rajappan Nair, proposed thanks. Prof (Dr. Joseph Francis, President of the Humbolt Club of Kerala and Shri Syed Ibrahim, Director, Goethe-Zentrum, were among those present at the function.
