Marshall probes gas explosion

The Ontario Fire Marshall is investigating a gas explosion at a home in Chatham. The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Fire officials say the explosion caused $30,000 in damage.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas made a bid to win approval in Israel by giving an interview to Israeli journalists. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, accepted a proposal to release 1,000 prisoners.

Police are investigating after finding the bodies of 43 dogs and cats buried in a Gatineau, Que. backyard. The bodies were found in the yard of a home belonging to a mother and her two adult children.
